we're fine thanks. We managed to put it out too, but the smoke appears to have made EVERYTHING smell.
the worst thing for me was seeing the smoke pouring into my living room. It made me realise how much I love my little house and how happy I am here.
So, I'm going to give it some tlc today, room by room, and try to make it sparkle again.0 -
I still cant light a candle using a match as Im scared rigid by fire/ flames. As a toddler my grandfather set fire to the field behind our house and i remember running down the garden path hotly pursued by firemen (now that would be kind of kinky these days:o). Also our chimney was our sole source of heat as a child and set on fire at least twice:eek::eek::eek: And as a single young mum I had the joy/embarrassment of fit firemen in my flat as my alarm was faulty - made me tidy up before bed as the toys were scattered everywhere:eek::eek::eek:
Anyway Good Morning. I am back in bed because for the first time in months I have the house to myself - just the piggies, the doggies and ME:T:T:T My drugs have made me sleepy so Im having 5 minutes before I need to shift myself.
My new pantry corner has been fitted by Kid's Dad and it looks lovely. It matches my very posh piggy cageIm on the look out for some vintage storage for the piggy bedding and food so if anyone has any ideas? I need to get sorted and put stuff away like my tea and boxes of cereal.
Have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning all - I had a bit of a lie-in as I didn't sleep well over the weekend or last night. Got no real plans today as I've earmarked it for relaxing. Have some leftover mash from yesterday, so will fry some onions to mix in (maybe add some peas as well) and make potato cakes to have tonight with bacon and egg. Hope everyone has a nice day."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

so far I've done half the living room. I've realised we need to wash the curtains, the cushions, the carpet.....but we also need to get the woodburner fixed and the flue checked which will probably create more muck. So, I'm going to hold off on the curtains and carpet I think.
I'm aiming to get the living room done before lunch, and then tackle the kitchen. Heck.0 -
Morning, couldn't face shopping this morning (I really hate it) so am going to have a jumble of chopped bits from the fridge for lunch and roast some peppers and courgettes leftover from last week for dinner. I have quite a bit of work to get on with this week so will be busy with that. Thinking I should also cut the grass, hopefully last time this year, but who knows with this crazy weather! Overdid a bit at the gym this morning and am paying the price............my hip is on fire! I know from the physio that this doesn't mean I've done it any harm, but it's not pleasant.
Have a wedding next year and I want to drop a couple of dress sizes by end of next july, so thought I would burn some extra calories as I was a bit of a pig at the weekend. OH had bought me a Terrys Chocolate orange and as he's diabetic it seemed only decent for me to eat most of it!

Morning all
I can't seem to remember to post everyday  so its seems very rude of me to keep popping on and then not coming back for a few days - sorry
Had a busy weekend at the Lottie and keeping the children from fighting each other, then last night I was up till all hours - we have a toe-rag who keeps trying to break into our cars, I spotted him earlier in the week breaking into a neighbours car and last night the same neighbour spotted him trying to get in my car, neighbour gave chase but lost him,Police were out and about with a Dog but he'd gone, at least he knows we are on to him so hopefully he won't come back :mad::mad:
Been busy this morning with housework and cutting the grass, have just scoffed breaky but I'm still hungry :rotfl:may need to have more toast - I'm craving Lemon Marmalade on toast [had 2 slices] but the gap isn't full yet
Hope you all have a nice day
Lovely Autuminal day here

Hope the toe-rag stays away, Helen - our car got burnt out in January so I know what a worry it is. Fortunately the insurance money meant we ended up with what DH deems to be a better car than the previous one, and it's certainly more comfortable for me to sit in as a non-driving passenger with back problems, so it's an ill wind ..."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
