For today, soup for lunch (reduce the soup mountain a little from the freezer) and convert mince into a bulk load of spag bol - I know this puts food back in the freezer, but it's then in a more user-friendly form,, ie I don't have to do anything!!
Spag bol will do for DH and friend tea tomorrow whilst me and DD eat up some more fish (he's too fussy) and I'm eating up chicken made into orzotto (a bit like Nigella did this week) for tea tonight.
mrs motivated - you have a LOT of meat to eat through. I'll send DH over, he'd like to be a carnivore :beer:Striving down south to stay northern and tight! :rotfl:0 -
HI - can i join?
I have 2 freezers with 7 drawers between them.
I can't even face an inventory yet. One of mine is frost free but the other desperately needs defrosting and has done since christmas..
SO tonight I have removed 4 meals (2 ready made veggie meals that DD (the veggie) has turned her nose up, one for DD that she will eat and a home made lasagne for DS) as Thursday is our busy night and they will fit the bill and free some space.
So a meal plan for the week
Fri- chicken pie with frozen left over chicken and a block of puff pastry (DD can have some frozen veg pie / pancake mix from ages ago) with frozen runner beans from garden followed by bread and butter pud (to use up some staleish bread)
Sat - out due to DD drama performance,
SUn - Mince and tatties, mince from freezer followed by apple and blackberry crumble using frozen fruit. I might make DD some veggie cottage pies though some will go back in freezer
Mon - fish pie - frozen fish pie mix with frozen pollock and prawns added as I know there isn't quite enough. If there's any left I will refreeze (YS fish) DD eats fish occasionally
Tues - Chicken curry - using YS chicken and leftover curry sauce. Hmm DD can have mac and cheese I know I have in freezer with some peas
Weds - Some YS braising steak in slow cooker - I have a stray bottle of beer it can be cooked in. DD can have - hmm - Something
Thurs - HM pizza using frozen YS pizza bases with onion, frozen peppers, DS can have meat and I'll put goats cheese on ours.
Result:T ANd not too much to buy.
That might buy me some space to actually see what's in there.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Yes lots of meat . This is because following a recent divorce, I downsized drastically so i went from 1 Large and 1 small chest freezer and a large amercian fridge freezer to an undercounter fridge and 1 small chest freezer. So the majority of food was left in the previous house, which the then husband lived in for a while.
When things were still bitter and raw, i was in an 'I paid for all that food mood!' so filled the small chest freezer with the more expensive items (meat) - which i am still ploughing through :rotfl: Oh well we live and learn.
Tea tonight, Pork loin steaks, chips and side salad.
It has occured to me its such a shame we dont all live close by so we could mix and match freezers. We could all dine like kings for a month without spending a pennyWell Behaved women seldom make history

I love that idea mrsmotivated - mix and match freezers - fabulous!
Welcome VJsmum!
How are you all doing this week? I've been working away so DH used some of the chicken in the freezer and turned it into curries (thereby also using up a jar of curry sauce from tins cupboard - good lad), so although that's technically putting food back IN the freezer, it's put food in which is in a more usable form! (so i can be lazy and just pull out a "ready meal" that was made ready by DH :-) )
Soup for lunch will eat up another portion and soup for DD tea will use another!! (we have a soup mountain!)
What are you eating out of the freezer today?
