Hello GL - have subscribed to this thread. I have a similar level of debt and just started my own diary today. I'm on a decluttering mission as well - if I'm overhauling the finances, I might as well clear the other unwanted junk
You might enjoy frugalqueen's blog - just google frugalqueen; I find her really inspirational
She challenged me to throw 100% into getting my debt cleared.

I didn't manage to list anything on eBay yest after, my mum was taken ill so nursing duties took priority- thought I would list some things tomorrow for five days.
I am keenly waiting for the book brizzle recommended- cant wait to start reading about enoughness, its the philosophy I am trying to follow.
No interest on the house- I know I need to forget about it until after Christmas but each time my mobile rings (rarely) I have a hope it might be the Estate Agent- haven't had a viewing for almost a month.
I just feel in a bit of limbo, for example I have a couple of larger pieces of furniture I hope might make me some money on eBay but don't feel I can list them til we sell as it'll make the house look rather bare.
Also I am keen to apply for a 0%cc but didn't want to do that until after we'd moved in case we got rejected and this affected our credit score which might affect the new mortgage.
Thanks to everyone for reading, I enjoy catching up on your diaries.

Thank you for the welcome
I got an email from eBay saying that this weekend you don't pay for listing if your item doesn't sell. I like that because otherwise it is a huge loss for items which are not .99p . ,so I will be relisting all the items that didn't sell last time plus a few more.
In a bid to make my life simple I will be getting a pair of doc Martens boots and sell/donate 99.9% of my sandals and flip flops which I never wear anyway. :rotfl:..............................................................................

Hi All,
GL I am another one who hates doing car boots, but needs must. Hope it goes well and you make lots of money. Finding it hard to focus on reducing debt with the holiday less than three weeks away, it all seems to be about spending but i have written down my goals for next year
1. Get to my goal weight, i am half way there have lost 2 stone so just 2 more to go.
2. Find a job I like, ideally working for myself
3. Tackle the debts, write everything down and work towards repaying everything (this may take a few years)
4. Sell the house. This should help with the debt repayment and decide whether to rent or buy something smaller.
Tiglath thanks for the tip, I will have a look at frugal queens blog
Moonjelly I didnt realise that about ebay either will do some relisting this afternoon.
Off to Mr T's for essentials, have a £5 off voucher but will stick to my list. Have good days all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

The car boot sale was - COLD!
Not a surprise really given the time of year. We had a steady stream of buyers and came away with £140! Definitely well worth it. That money will pay for DS Christmas presents.
Also of course lots of clutter sold- we brought back two ikea bags of stuff- its gone straight back up the loft- we will do another one come January.
Some more news- we got a viewing on Weds!!! I honestly didnt think we'd have anything til the new year now so a lovely surprise. Lots of cleaning Tues night now.
I am exhausted after such a early start so am planning a hot bath, cold wine and strictly!!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

PS- many thanks for the suggestion about frugalqueen blog Tiglath, I'm off to have a look!0 -
Its a beautiful crisp morning here, it was a pleasure to get up early and walk the dogs- I love it when everywhere is quiet and peaceful. It shows me this is how I want my life to be, peaceful, with time to walk and enjoy the seasons and instead of getting back home and rushing to do chores etc, have time to sit with a hot cuppa and look out at the garden which looks like its been sprinkled with fairy dust!
Had a lovely sleep and feel recovered from the boot sale. Later this morning I plan to make a few listings on eBay.
So I'm off to make a cuppa and curl up with my book whilst the house is still peaceful for the next hour or so.
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Another weekend almost over!! Where does the time go???
Had a productive day- prepared and listed the eBay items- always forget just how long it takes. Fingers crossed they'll do well.
Started tidying the spare room ready for the viewing. It's usually quite tidy but all the Christmas purchases have been bunged on the spare bed! Means I've been able to list exactly what I've bought. Hope not to have to buy much more now.
Only went out to walk dogs then got back in pjs and have stayed that way all day!!! It's great to do that- also means NSD.
Got a busy week this week - a shopping evening with mum (for her not me- honest!), parents evening and a leaving party for a work colleague.
So much for simplifying my schedule!! But I am really hoping the Christmas schedule will be quieter- usually the three weeks before are packed with nights out and functions- this year should be much less hectic- hopefully I won't be stressed and ill for the main day!

Great news about the car boot, and the house viewing, will keep fingers and toes crossed for you.
I know what you mean about the Christmas schedule, I've taken to being a bit naughty and telling people we are busy when we aren't just to keep things simple and make sure we don't spend all our time running around trying to fit in everything everyone else wants us to do, guess that's me on the naughty list then :rotfl:
