Yikes. Just looked at my planner (on work lappy) and apparently I'm painting the downstairs loo this week...

I did the woodwork when I did the dining room this summer. So it's just emulsioning. I'll have a look today and decide if it really needs it, or if I'm just on a job creation trip. (ETA its fine, a few dirty makes but nothing a magic eraser sponge won't fix :) this is me learning to take this easier hurrah)

It's a bit nippy today, but bright and blowy outside, so I'm going to chance hanging some washing out, when wm finished.

But, am at the paid stuff here so that will be the extent of my flying until lunch break. We had a good tidy round last night so everything is clear, ready for the cleaning to begin!

    Here's to a good flyweek!

Back from the bank and they said no :( Apparently because I couldn't produce 2 tax returns in paper format they can't help me. :( I do it all online and I'm pretty sure I haven't printed them out, even just to the computer. Oh well, looks like its going to be a damn hard slog instead to pay stuff off :( At least my accounts are now on my computer and I can use it to budget stuff easier than the spreadsheet I was using. Starting 1st Oct its going to be a major strict budget and if DD wants to go to Paris with school in July she best accept it! For now its a case of "lets see how far I can make my cash stretch" (I get paid next week in theory so I'll be fine, I just want to challenge myself to stretch the money as far as possible ;))

ETA: Oh and because I haven't been trading for 2 years they won't help me either!

I need packed lunch stuff for DD for the week so I'm off to use my bus day pass to go to Mr Ts and use some points vouchers to get in what I can. Think we'll do a storecupboard challenge as well since I have stuff in. ;) Off to mooch at the prices on my5uperm@rket ;)

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Morning everyone

LW - hope MrLW is back in your good books
Cat - hope DH is ok
Nicki - Sorry about your "No"
Valli - special vibes for the little lad

I had a rough night last time, some toe-rag [the same one as earlier in the week] tried to break into mine and 2 neighbours cars last night, neighbour gave chase but lost him, Police were out with a dog but he'd gone!! Hopefully, now that he knows he was spotted he'll give up targeting our bit. DH managed to snore through all the goings on - lucky so and so!

Today I have done a bit of the Kitchen, sorted the DR, made phonecalls, banking sorted and drunk loys of coffee.

Pigpen - hope you managed some sleep last night!

Nicki.. look elsewhere.. we were turned down a few places but eventually got one. I am paying it off over 8 years and have been overpaying so should get it gone over 5 years instead.. I have about 3.5 years left of the 8 and should have it gone in about 18 months.

2 loads of washing hung to dry
    1 load in dryer
DW on.. it should be finished actually and can be refilled.. twice possibly!

Good Morning, I am back! Sorry for going MIA last week but things have been busy here with both Mums now being in different hospitals. I will try and pop in more frequently this week.

Helen, sorry to hear about the rough night you had.

Nicki, sorry to hear that it was 'No.' I am heading off to the storecupboard challenge thread sometime today as I have had two months of overspending on my grocery budget and I need to rein it in.

  • Hi everyone! Would love to join back in with this again!

After moving to our new flat, things started out fine with a fresh clean start and all that, but then we've let things slide over the past couple of weeks! Culminating in me running around cleaning yesterday and tidying up ready for when the parents arrived!

So I want to start getting a proper routine down and sort out things (because basically we dumped a lot of stuff in places when we moved in and they have yet to be sorted out almost 4 months later!)

    And my list of things to do this week;

    - Collect train tickets for the weekend
    - Sort out bills and file them in folder
    - Update budget/spends spreadsheet
    - Laundry
