Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week:

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Thanks for the sterling work, as ever, Juliejim and Dusty

usual bitting and bobbing from me, I'm afraid...but I start the week with an almost empty laundry basket and all my ironing done.

Vibes, please for a boy, younger brother of a scout DS scouted with who has been diagnosed with leukaemia (AML) - haven't seen them since DS left scouts. DS found out through FB.

Thanks juliejim. I'll be joining in again this week. However, we've got someone coming to paint the hall, stairs and landing who will first take up the stair carpet, so if we are instructed to "hoover all the way up the stairs" in the next few days I might miss out that task :D

Honey Bear wanted to see a photo of the model castle that I have built, but - technophobe that I am - at the moment I can't insert the photo in this reply to the thread. I don't have a smartphone, and the image is in a normal pictures folder on my PC so it doesn't have a URL. Do I need to find a website where I can upload the photo for free? If so, please could someone point me in the right direction? :o

Thanks for the lists JJ, I'm in. Work mon-wed as usual but will try to keep pace.

Still havent sorted my extras lists but the kids are in bed now, so will have a think.

Hmm. Really need to get shot of some CDs. Maybe I will do half an hour each night on music magpie. It's a bit of a frog. I downloaded the iPad scanner but it doesn't seem to work on the DVDs I tried. Maybe I'll have better luck with CDs.

    Thanks for the new listJuliejim.

Today has been busy with 3 football matches. 1 won 2 lost. DH did the furthest away one. I did the nearest then DH went to DS2's second match. MIL cooked a roast for us and it's lovely not to have to cook. I did all the washing up as a mark of my gratitude.

No ironing to do :j I'm up to date.

    See you all tomorrow.

I really must get back into the swing of this - I am determined to do some housework every day when I get in from work. Will add the daily lists to my post and then delete as I get things done. Thank you for the lists - when I did this before it really helped. Quick query - what is 'TD' - worked it out - 'tumble drier' - filters defluffed and hoovered

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level one - done

    Level Two - done
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Hoover and mop the floor[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wipe hob[/STRIKE]
    Clear and wipe table

    Extras

    Clean
    [STRIKE]TD[/STRIKE]/ DW filters
    [STRIKE]Wipe cupboard fronts[/STRIKE]
    HHI

Tuesday - Living Room, Hall & Stairs

    Level Two
    Dust any dusty bits

  • I am in again this week, hopefully :o Thanks Juliejim for the lists. If I aim for level 1, then maybe I may over-achieve for a change! I am working 45+ hours this week (and every week!) so I will see what I can do.

    My list:

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level one
    Clear worksurfaces
    Level Two
Wipe worksurfaces right into the corners
    Clean microwave
    Level Three
    Hoover and mop the floor
    Wipe hob
    Clear and wipe table
    Extras
    Clean TD/ DW filters
    Wipe cupboard fronts
    HHI

    FROG LIST:
    1. Do one hour of my accounts
    2. Update Learning Journeys (3 to do)
    3. Sort out rest of photos for printing
    4. Back up laptop to hard drive
    5. Do a meal plan
    6. Transfer photos for Little Miss Sunshine and complete LJ when photos arrive
    7. Make sure all planning, RA’s & fire drill lists are up to date
    8. Get quotes for car insurance
    9. Start Christmas lists (and November Birthdays)
    10. Finish reading chapters re Research Project & give it some thought!

Kitchen is quite tidy, so hopefully shouldn't be too bad tomorrow. TD hasn't worked since before our holiday, so the filters don't need cleaning :p I may have to think about getting someone in to look at it, or get a new one soon :o

Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them, and sleepy-baby vibes to Pigpen's nocturnal children!
