You'll usually find it much cheaper to pay full price (£529) for the iPhone from Apple and then get a SIM-only contract.

For example, get a SIM-only contract from Three. See http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchTariff?deviceType=SIM_ONLY&priceplan=PAY_MONTHLY where for what you want, the total cost over 18 months would be £979. Whatever you do, compare the total cost over 18 or 24 months rather than the upfront cost of the goods or service.

I'd rather pay £51 a month over 24 months with Orange.

£1224 - but at least all your 01/02/02, mobiles, UK texts and UK data are included...for me this deal actually makes a i5 worth something more than its pricetag sim free.

i5 £529 cost over 24 months & the priceplan £29 a month it works out as. To me thats unbeatable.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Why pay £51 a month when you can get the same for less (T-Mobile?).

As I said, look at the total cost over the contract period. If you look at individual components, you're missing the whole picture.

Oh I completely see your point NFH and given the circumstances would personally go for a similar approach (if I wanted or needed an iPhone, which I do not)... But not everyone can afford such a large payment in a single lump sum.

I was merely questioning the logic of the previous poster on why Orange's insanely priced package was great for the OP.

UNLIMITED on T-Mob is 2000 cross network mins, the unlimited refers to T-mobile to T-Mobile calls, advertised as unlimited, small print says the above.

  • No the £36 plan is 2000 minutes... The £41 plan is unlimited minutes. Still £240 less overall than Orange. The £36 specifically separates T-Mobile calls and cross network where as the £41 states any network anytime.

Well they changed it because yesterday the link to plan inclusions on the £41 plan on their website said 2000 mins & unlimited T-Mobile.

Good luck using all them 2000 mins on the Three network.

When i had a phone on 3 a few years ago the network coverage was useless.

Just make sure you check the coverage for the areas where you need to make calls
