I got mine done in August but tbh any time between April and Sept is ideal for me but you can of course get chimney done any time. I tend to order my logs earlier in Summer too. Because is spreads work for tradesmen and I have a good place for storage and keep doors open in Summer to allow them to dry. I store them in a old garage and made a couple of racks for logs

Its one of those things that gets overlooked, once the summer arrives the fire gets forgotten, then come the damp weather and it starts to get a bit nippy its arghhhhhh need to get me chimney swept..... doh

Tempted to get my fire on today. Its cold, raining and windy on York coast. Had GCH on for best part of a week on low 18-19c when I can get away with it ;)

Yep, got the chimney swept a couple of weeks back. Finally caved on Friday night and fired the stove up for the first time this season. Bit different from this time last year when it was still T-shirt weather outside, but I've currently got the happiest house rabbit in town stretched out on the hearth.

Sat here burning the last of last seasons logs

Hubby swept ours three weeks back and the fire has been lit every evening the past week. Logs only for now. Have a full bunker of smokeless ready for when it gets colder
