Ive said it before so i'll say it again.
If you have a stove or open fire then now is the time to get your chimney swept !
Other than getting a fire up your chimney or flue the other dangerous thing is carbon monoxide poisoning from a blocked chimney, so please remember to get your chimney or flue swept before you start using it.

my chimney or flue's what?Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0

Had mine done about a month ago also replaced back bit on stove as the old bit got buckled. First time I got a certificate to say its done for insurance purposes0

I did mine last month and was talking to the neighbours after completion. They told me they had theirs done by a sweep in April. I suggested they ask him to comeback and sweep again as both property's chimneys have been home to crows this year so will no doubt be full of nest building matter. They were not aware of this and not too happy, I think they will be getting cowls or bird guards fitted this time.If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0

I swept mine today, not too bad considering I haven't done it for 2 years. I burn smokeless though and the odd logs when it's really cold.0

I think you mean "Apostrophe's issues".
Judging by the responses so far, now is NOT the time to get your chimney swept !0 -
Actually mid-summer is the best time. I find my sweep is only too happy for the work then and can fit me in at a moment's notice!
Don't neglect it though - sweeping is essential.0 -
