Wholesale DVD Sales....warning!

Hi. I will try to keep this as simple as possible. I am Karen Webb. About one and a half years ago I ordered a set of dvds from wholesaledvds. All was good until about 4 months ago when I had a visit from Trading Standard officers. They then explained that wholesaledvds had take my name and address and were using it on their website to their advantage. So it was left in their hands to sort things out. Yesterday I received a Special Delivery from a lady in Southport, which I refused, because I could see that they were full of these fake dvds. So I tracked her down and spoke with her on the phone. She also got my name from the website , which for me is extremely frustrating, as I am totally innocent . Tomorrow I am going to phone the Trading Standard people, I kept their card and explain to them these recent events. I will also Email wholesaledvds and tell them they have been reported for using my details. I hope that someone can close this site down and would listen to any advice that will help to do that. Regards- Karen0

Emailing wholesaledvds will likely get you nowhere as the real culprits behind the site are probably abroad and will just ignore you.

CARE CARE CARE
These chinese fraudsters are now operating under the name Largedvd.co.uk
You have been warned0 -
Apologies This site sell fake DVD's
Largedvdsales.co.uk
Do not use0 -
They also seem to be operating the hotdvdboxset.co.uk website so avoid them too. Bought a Region 2 box set from them which, when it finally appeared, was a Region 1 box set which is totally unplayable. Email correspondance between us is currently going 'give me my money back', 'all of our DVDs are region free and play on any DVD player' repeated in various ways over and over again. The format of the website is identical to the wholesaledvdsales.co.uk website and the DVD was dispatched from China. I really only thought to check the details of the website after I'd waited over two weeks for the product to arrive - I was fooled by the .co.uk web address, I will be more careful in future. Having read the other postrs, I have cancelled my debit card that I used to pay and, fingers crossed, no dodgy payments have been taken from my account so far. Lesson learnt.0

Unfortunately I did not read any comments regarding the wholesaledvdsales website before placing my order for NCIS Seasons 1-9 box set.
Indeed, I thought that I had found a "bargain" in finding this box set as other sites such as Amazon were only selling the Seasons 1-8 box set, and I thought that perhaps wholesaledvdsales had managed to egt one jump ahead. How wrong was I!
The first alarm bell in my head was after I placed my order and payment, I then received an e-mail stating that my payment transaction would appear as the Beijing Yuan Fang Wang Jing Travel Information Service Co.,Ltd.
I ordered the box set on Friday 5 April and it arrived today, Tuesday 16 April. Considering the 5-8 working days delivery quoted, this has arrived on time (taking into account that Saturdays and Sundays are not working days). The delivery note was from a Chinese shipping company.
However, it is not a box set as stated, rather, individual seasons in their own box. Further alarm bells started sounding when I checked that the region of play was for Region 1 (which is NTSC and for the USA only). Before I ordered, I checked that the region of play was number 2 (for the UK and Europe).
The artwork on the boxes look genuine enough and there appears to be no obvious spelling mistakes. I decided to play one of the DVDs anyway to see what the quality was like. Certainly it's a pirate copy and although the picture quality is not as sharp as it should be, it is definitely watchable. The appears to be no lip-syncing issues ie. you hear the sound a second or two after you see the person speak. But, I have only played a small portion out of one DVD, so I cannot say whether any of the other DVDs may have issues. I guess I'll just have to wait and see as to what happens when I attempt to play the other DVDs.....
All I can say is that there is never a truer word in the saying "If something appears too good to be true, it generally is". I've learnt my lesson!

Amazon UK have Season 9 on pre-order as released in August on Region 2 - so that should have been a big warning sign.
Most likely they have been copied from a US release as Season 9 has been available over there since last year. Also, the artwork is probably a high quality colour scan/print.0
