Hi all
Hope you don't mind me jumping in with a question but my little boy is getting interested in this type of thing (is just 5) and we have been looking innotabs and the leapfrog tabs too. Question is which would peeps reccomend? Is the Vtech one much better? Also he likes to play on daddy's iPad so would this kind of thing be too basic ?
Thank you for any help don't want to buy the wrong one as it is going to be a big chunk of the Xmas money to spend wrongly

I found a couple of useful articles when deciding which to go for. Having read around there doesn't seem to be too much in it but cannot speak from experience.
Pc Advisor article:

I've just bought the innotab 2 at 20% off from Boots online with 3 games for £92.97, saving £51.99. The games are on the 3 for 2 offer, I used a voucher code for £15 off a £100 spend ( found on HUKD) and received 1104 of clubcard points as its triple points this weekend.
This probably isn't the best deal available right now, lots of people have mentioned Very, but I really wanted to make sure I buy this early from somewhere reliable and local (my local boots store is great at resolving any online order issues), just in case it is hard to find nearer Christmas. Tesco let me down on this with their 3 for 2 offer and Boots have always been reliable in my experience so went for this deal.0 -
We read the above articles too and found them helpful. If you google 'innotab vs leappad' you will egt allsorts of info. We went for the Innotab in the end because i liked the idea of having an SD card so we could put videos on etc.
Also they are on 3 for 2 at Tesco 2 though i think they only have Blue ones left.0 -

Morning...any chance of having the info too Eternal Noob. Many thanks n much appreciated :beer:0 -
Not the cheapest considering many have got it for £60 and under....but in costco at £63.?? (inc. VAT).
Saw the blue one upfront - once I saw the price I did not look any closer sorry so can't say if in pink also and any games etc.
HTH someone out there? maybe those with cashback cards?

Apologies if this has been posted but boots currently have the vetch 2 for 68 and if you spend over 100 you can get a code for 15 off - I just ordered the leap pad 2 and three games for 97 delivered! Plus topcash back
chuffed!

hiya, i wondered the same thing as my daughter is almost 5 and always using my iphone.
We went to Smyths where they had an innotab we could use to play on and see what it was all about and found it very very slow!! We've decided against buying it as i know she would be easily bored with it and are going to get her a meep tablet or nabi tablet instead. These are more expensive but more like an ipad and much much quicker and touch sensitive. They both work off the android system and have good parental controls.
smyths had the meep to try and we thought that was much more suited to her and she'd get more use from it.
The meep and nabi are specially designed tabs for children.
My advice would be to find somewhere that has them on display you can try as we were really set on the innotab untill we tried it.0 -
We have bought our 2 year old a child pad child friendly tablet with wifi camera and apps from Toysrus and are very happy with it great value for £99, at least i have my phone back and my laptop,Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0
