How do you know what the postage is on the items I purchase and how that relates to the total cost? :p Actually I buy most of my pieces from the US!

Well good for you but you got my gist and no, return postage would not be paid by the seller, whatever the reason for return.

  • Isn't that the point of feedback?

Either tell them and tell them what you want [half your money back?] or leave the negative feedback that it deserves.

Just don't mention the feedback in your email to them as you could get reported for feedback extortion.

Email the seller explaining the problem. Depending on what they say when they come back to you you either accept their solution or report them through paypal for SNAD- sold not as described. I've never had to do it so not sure what happens but you've a very good chance at getting your money back ;)
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

I'd certainly let the seller know you're not happy with some of the items.

They obviously took you for a mug.
  • Fire Fox i think you sum up why i thought i should let it go so that i did not become involved in a tit for tat with a seller who would ask me to justify the grey and bobbly bits which are easily disguised in a photo and then have them tell me it was my own fault etc. It is both quality and quantity, i know that the nicer items are at the forefront on bundles and not all will be suitable which is why i felt petty but this is half the bundle.
So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

I had a similar situation with a couple of baby dresses I purchased. They had a very musty smell when I opened the parcel, while wearable they were obviously been used/washed many times, and probably been in damp storage somewhere. But the description had been glowing and made out one had only been worn once despite it showing bobbling. The other had a button missing. She'd muddled up despatch too so it took ages to get the parcel to start with.

I contacted the seller, she was very keen to keep her 100% status so tried to be helpful but it was more her inaccurate descriptions that had frustrated me more than anything. Even though she offered, I said it wasn't worth my while paying for the return postage (with baby clothes this is often on par with the item price)

In the end, I explained to her I was going to neg her, just so that others could be wary in future of believing her flowery prose.

  • Do contact the seller prior to neg feedback- eBay prompt you to do this.

Ive had someone neg me without contact before (was first time for me and none after that) and I'd have been quite happy to try and resolve issue, but they didn't ask or raise a PayPal claim (this case they were taking the P hence didn't use any official routes).

So worth a pop for a partial refund.
If no response then raise a claim. Mostly claims will get you a full refund if the seller just ignores it.
  • Some things I've received in the past have just been embarrassing and people have a very wide range of acceptability regarding how minging a "used" item can be, bleurgh. But in all cases I've contacted the seller and made a claim if needed.

SNAD - Significantly not as described. I would ask for the postage back explaining that some of the items were unwearable. A decent seller would comply if only to keep their feedback unaffected.

OP with a bundle I would be inclined to just accept it, unless they explicitly stated that everything was in excellent condition. I had someone neg me recently without contacting me because they disagreed with my description (annoys me because there were loads of close up photos and i know it was brand new and they got a serious bargain) and I overcharged postage by £1.10 (it fell into the lower price bracket which i wasn't expecting and figured they wouldn't make a fuss as most people I find charge at least £1 over the actual postage price). Needless to say it really bothered me :o

Unless something is nothing like the description I tend to not bother with neutral or negative feedback. I realise that you take a gamble when you buy bundles or things with less than clear photos but you do usually get them cheap.

  • I have never felt comfortable with the star rating or the fact that sellers feel blackmailed by buyers (i sell too) and have never left a neg as it would have to be really bad including aftersale - although i have left a neutral for postage but it was way over £1.10 and i had contacted the seller first. Yes bundles are usually cheap and i will keep the bundle for the better stuff that is in it but there is no way i would have bid my price for half the content. On hindsight i think the seller knew this which is why the less attractive items were on the outskirts of the photo or partially covered - the seller would also know that it would cost me to return the whole bundle so after reading these posts i think i am right to let them know how i feel.
So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.
