Glad you're back, hope you get the drugs you need and they help you....
Well done on paying off the student loan and cancelling the storage, can you put this "extra" money towards the debt?
Perhaps your debt free day will change?

Thanks Jox! Yes, I'm upping my direct debit to £500 but I'm going to work out a budget tonight and aim to use £700 towards the debt per month. I know I'll go off the rails if there isn't some leeway but I also want to be debt free ASAP!

February is proving quite expensive. We're off to London tomorrow to see Matilda (Xmas present from my manfriend). Very excited but we'll be eating out and getting train tickets... it all mounts up. And it turns out only 80% of my dental treatment is covered so I have to pay the extra, thankfully it's not a great deal but still feels like I'm spending money with nothing to show for it.
Met up with a friend who moved to Sydney last year and I'm desperate to visit him out there. Flights in September are currently £800... I can't justify the spend at the moment but I'm trying to use the frustration as another incentive to STOP SPENDING! Also got chatting to one my buddies who happens to be moving to Oz in September to work for a few months then travel around Asia, he can afford to do that even though he's on £10k less than me, has 2 or 3 holidays a year AND he's debt free.
Grrrr! I wish I could turn back time!
On a positive note, I have just booked a van (£25) to collect my stuff out of storage. Some will go to the tip and rest will be squeezed into our flat. Looking forward to have the extra £92 to pay off the evil CC.CC1 - [STRIKE]£8746[/STRIKE] £2801 71%LBM September 2012 - Current DFD Oct 14

I have moved out of my storage place
£21 refund is also coming my way - horrah! Car is still full to the brim of stuff I need to fit into our small (but very cute) flat. That's a chore for this weekend! So happy to have all my stuff in one place after all this time. Lovely jubbly! AND my sofa is far more comfortable that my boyfriend's old blue thing. Not that I'd ever tell him that
Pay day is next week so this weekend we're going to stay in, tidy up and make some nice Thai food. I'm going to be £184 up each month with Student Loan & storage fees disappearing. I've basically given myself a payrise. Whoop!!
I'm very much a winter person but at the moment I'm looking forward to Spring. I really want to ride my bike on the weekends again even though I found it tough. No one got healthy by sitting on the sofa :ACC1 - [STRIKE]£8746[/STRIKE] £2801 71%LBM September 2012 - Current DFD Oct 14

Ooo and about our Matilda trip last weekend... I ended up driving and parking at Westfield for the day (just £8!). Matilda was quite disappointing. I love the book and they changed bizarre bits to make it almost slapstick at times.
Westfield was lovely though. Looking forward to heading there again when I'm in the black10 MONTHS TO GO!

Today my darling manfriend bought me a vintage money box & it's perfect size for £2 coins so that's going to be another way to collect up some pennies!
I also told him about the extent of my debt. It was a big step for me & he was cool about it and said I had a good plan in place

Urgh just realised my 'Debt Manager' app was talking complete nonsense!! If I increase to £600 a month I'll be debt free Jan 2014. Previously said I'd be debt free with £500 monthly payments by Dec 2013.
Grrrrrr!!! Soooo increasing my direct debit to £600 on Monday & I'm going to start being really strict again. So annoyed that I didn't check against a normal calculator!!!
Update - Decided to go for £450 a month then transfer any money in my current account on the day before payday. If I just pay £450 a month, I'll be debt free July 2014. I still hope for Xmas once my bonus & extra payments are factored in.CC1 - [STRIKE]£8746[/STRIKE] £2801 71%LBM September 2012 - Current DFD Oct 14

Errrm so it's pay day today and this is the first month in a long time that I nearly ran out of money so I exported my transactions for the last month into Excel and... I spent £500 in supermarkets/restaurants/starbucks last month.
£500! Some of that may have been petrol but on the whole it's just FOOD. A real shock to my system and I will NOT go to Sainsburys without a shopping list from now on. Or any shop for that matter.
I clearly can’t be trusted!!
