  • Hi mimi1234

It's the same for me - got 4 reports from the weekend to submit + 1 from today!

Hope they don't release the visits as lots of money spent on one!

    Fingers crossed it's sorted ASAP.

  • Same problem here too - going to put the rest in to other companies then try again later I guess. Hopefully they'll notice that nobody is submitting anything and sort out the deadline...

  • Inside knowledge: TNS major client is ending Mystery shopping (the shops on the Mercury site) but will start doing customer feedback surveys similar to the one of the Retail Maxim client.

Someone was doing an exit interview about the different departments in that store near me (Sheffield)

Hope the fast ones will continue

It's all cycles though, it depends what they want to get out of the surveys. It's hard to get the "average" customer to complete them, they more come from the loyal or the disgruntled. Also it's impossible to get any answers to detailed questions. Would you remember if you'd been offered a specific upsell 2 days later when you weren't even listening for it at the time?

I think over time some firms will come back to mystery shoppers as it's all very well setting standards, but it's hard to know what's actually happening on the floor unless you check.

Depends on if they think the upsells are worth investigating or not. MSing has some strengths and some major weaknesses. MS misses the "average" customer more so than the questionnaires as over time, loyal and disgruntled will balance each other out, and if you add inducements to get the average customer you will get them.

MS is good to assess if staff are doing specific things, not the overall sentiment of customers in your store and without that your at serious risk of losing market share.
