Depends on if they think the upsells are worth investigating or not. MSing has some strengths and some major weaknesses. MS misses the "average" customer more so than the questionnaires as over time, loyal and disgruntled will balance each other out, and if you add inducements to get the average customer you will get them.

MS is good to assess if staff are doing specific things, not the overall sentiment of customers in your store and without that your at serious risk of losing market share.

I must admit that If they have lost their client I can kind of see a little why. I've only been MSing 3/4 years but I've never seen a change in the scenario and most of my visits are 'average'.

Considering this company is not winning the war with their competitors I think they should be focusing more on customer service.

As for the customer feedback forms. Obviously my view is biased but my general feeling is 'They want my opinion, pay for it' lol The OH once did one for Nero (don't jump up on down, i'm not naming a client). it was quite detailed and he gave up half way through as he just couldn't be bothered.

You do have to think about how much of a responce they will get from this. I ignore feedback stuff based on the fact I do what I do. But even before that, these 'rewards' aren't really worth much. Win a £250 gift card for your feedback. Well, I could be one of thousands and I don't like my odds.

However I assume other 'normal' people will do this, although I think it should work in conjunction with MS, not instead of it.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
  • Sigh...so I just received an email from gfk - informing me that it "appears" I was identified as a mystery shopper and will not be paid for a bank job I went 20 miles out of my way to do on Friday... because I included in my report..."upon my query, the cashier immediately left the desk, went into the back, and came back a few minutes later with the manager...who was the same manager I mystery shopped with the same query 2 months ago in a town 40 miles away."

    Argh.

    Any recourse?

Its their fault for not changing the scenario for ages?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Yes I don't see how that's your fault at all! They should be paying you in full!

Indeed, you might as well dance around singing "I'm a mystery shopper lalala..."

The OP should be paid in full.

I would argue this, being identified is not a reason to not be paid.

TNS losing that client?! Oh dear! To what extent? I know they do slow/fast and age checks so if its all three TNS may as well give up shop.

I think it has however been a long time coming!

Did my open merchandise today. But when I completed it, all the checkouts went down. So all the managers and TLs rushed down to the checkouts. On the staff feedback, I just put down what the department manager commented on the display when he gave me some equipment for me to use and explained that the store turned into mayhem due to the checkouts going down.

    Hopefully Associa understand.
