Yup. And way beyond that. Journalists doing a proper job of keeping the government and big business in check will also be in the frame. Now why would a big-business-funded, incompetent, and morally bankrupt government have any interest in seizing a modicum of tangentially-linked public outrage to outlaw such things? Eh?

I know we've gone off topic here but the Government were very quick to allow newspapers to be named and shamed, after the phone hacking outrage, yet refuse to name and shame the big companies that have employed PIs to do the same thing...........shocking double standards!

Just looked at my statement for The train mystery shop as they have paid me one of the train visits. However, the cost of the train ticket is missing and there is just the fee on it. Wonder when the rest will get paid.

We are all in the same boat, I've sent 3 emails all with no reply, I really didn't expect any of these to be paid this month so a couple is a bonus for me.

We're edging towards the 4000 posts on this thread, which is when we start to think about a new thread (the forum mods tell us really long threads slow the form down.

    So,
    a) It'd be great if folk could take a few minutes to have a look at the first page on here and suggest improvements/ deletions/ additions. Are the companies we should delete? Add (I have one already)? Warn about or endorse? Are there any top tips you'd like to add? (like audio recording on your phone for timing?)

    b) I think we could use a post on page 1 about video MSing - it seems to come up frequently, including recommendations on kit and costs. Is there a videographer who'd like to volunteer? If not I could cobble something together from old posts, but as I don't do the work it's not ideal.

    c) I've been a rather rubbish thread custodian - very, very slow to update things. Would anyone like to do the next one?

I think the ideal would be for folk - new and old (feedback from newbies on what we old heads take for granted would be very welcome) to post their thoughts/ suggestions here for a couple of days, and then we can start a shiny new thread incorporating that stuff. :idea:So don't be afraid to stick your head above the parapet, lurkers! :hello:

As an aside, as we head into Thread 25, that means there are in the region of 95 000 posts on the combined threads! That's a lot of: burger floor shows; badly written briefs for surprisingly easy jobs; simple briefs that turn into nightmares; 'where's my money?'s; support; flounces; bickering; wise advice and moral support; 'have you ever?s; !!!!!!?s; naming names that shouldn't be nameds and a fair few giggles.
Hi as a newbie to MS and a bit of lurker :j on this thread - would it be possible where the agencies are listed on the first page that there is a brief note on what type of assignments they typically cover eg cars, coffee shops, fast food, fashion shops etc. It just then when starting out there are lots of agencies and it is difficult to know which ones to join. It just that I joined a few and realised that I would not have joined and not gone through the various selection process, as realistically they were offering assignments which did not appeal due to subject matter or having the technical knowledge to successfully 'blag' ones way through the assignment.

Only problem with that is that obviously companies do change between agencies, also along with some jobs that may be either invitation only or with different agencies across different regions would make that very difficult to compile.

Jeez, emails for URGENT jobs with ridiculously low fees. Seriously, who has been doing these?

Well on the train tickets - I have been paid for one ticket purchase + postage cost for sending recorded - so hopefully the rest will come through.

Keep being left messages about funerals - have already said no as I don't think the fee is suffice for what they want you to do. Not your 'normal' everyday MS assignment...

I've just had an email back, they are not answering payment queries as they are busy getting them through for payment (so that's me told) They are trying to pay the ones with the most outlay in the next pay run on 10/08, smaller ticket values may carry over to next month. All in all looks like a decent result, I wasn't expecting anything this month.
