That's what I thought. I was under the impression that only managers have access to the CCTV, and therefore possible MS IDs.

That said, you don't know if 'The Management' do have a quiet word with their staff.

I might go back there, as a 'normal' customer, order a meal and ask for the receipt, nice and loud. See if it attracts anyone's attention ;)

It has been known for some restaurants to be aware of the time frame when their shop is. Then when they hear the magic "receipt" asked for, they will make an extra effort, there aren't that many people asking for receipts so it helps them narrow it down. The reports come back very quickly and the restaurant will double check the CCTV in great detail. Anything they think is wrong will be contested, and if it's bad they might contest it in the hope that the diner hasn't correctly recorded their timings. Those images are certainly in some cases shared with crew members, but I'm sure not in all cases.

I hope that's not a breach of any confidentiality as I think it's reasonably commonly known.

My report was contested, but not on timings. I stuck to my guns as I knew I was correct. The problem with these shops, I see it, is a single person enters the restaurant, orders a meal from a limited list and asks for a receipt. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to think, "Eh up, Mystery Shopper" :)

The only way to catch them out a little is to enter the restaurant, go straight to the toilets and then only then order at the counter. Then ask for a receipt only after the food has arrived (which I think is the policy anyway unless they offer a receipt). To be honest it is a bit of a game, but even if you know who the shopper is if your restaurant is unclean and food isn't ready, it'll still be a bad report.

Yeah, if I don't get offered a receipt, I only ask for it once my food has arrived. The only thing they may do after that is send staff out to clean the shop floor, if it's dirty.

Best get my false beard, glasses and Pinocchio nose out then, LOL. As it happens, it's a restaurant that I've only ever shopped once before and have no intention of shopping again :)

I've done more drive thrus than walk ins and have never had any problems with them :), mind you I have a few different family cars to choose from.

I used to use customers' cars
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

If they are doing as they should be they wouldn't have to "look" for shoppers would they? If they get on with their jobs and stop looking for us they would do a perfectly good job! It's because they look for shoppers they fail in my opinion....
