    Someone been pruning?

This is a joke - I see one of my posts has been removed, and without even the courtesy of a PM.

Looks as though MSE is going the same way as CAG.

Disrespectful in the extreme a especially as anyone who has a sub to the thread gets to see the whole thing pre-pruned!
  • I notice they did not feel it was necessary to remove the original post that encourages people to lie on reports. double standards?

I've PM'd a board guide to ask if they know what's happened. Quite a few posts have been deleted on more than one occasion over the past 36 hours incl one of mine and two of mimi's that I know of.

My friend's dh goes to a bookies about 4 times a week. They were MS'd the other day and the manager got a written warning because one ONE betting slip that was found on the floor! How bloody petty is that?

I managed to find a set of briefing notes for another branch in the area and sent him the link for his interest.

If you do a bookies if you just see one betting slip, don't bother mentioning it as people are getting warnings.

I don't know how long you've been MSing. Probably longer than me but what upsets me most is that you send a brief... Manager then thinks 'well I need to look after my other manager mates' HO get wind MF then get dropped (may seem far fetched but possible) it then either doesn't get shopped or goes to bloody amber arch for 50% less. That's money out of my pocket.

I tell the truth....including saying some very nasty stuff about the branch. I said the shop was the most disgusting bookie I'd ever seen, dirty, smelly, rubbish everywhere. When I took my photo I took it in the worst possible way from the wrong angle really saying "Would you visit here?" It looks awful. All the paint on the outside is flaking and the shop is very unattractive. It's still on street view and it looks like a boarded up shop with fly posters on the wall. I'd rather walk a mile to the much more modern competitor....Within a few weeks the shop was repainted and the carpet professionally cleaned. Proper advertising was put the outside of the shop in a large display. It looks much better now even though it's still a small shop in the wrong location. I have no idea what the last mystery shoppers were saying...did they know the manager and always give a good review even though it was rubbish.

End of the day, even if you're familiar with the outlet, you have to go in with a fresh pair of eyes.

It's not rocket science, just think catchphrase and say what you see. So long as I'm honest, objective and as constructive as I can be, my conscience is clear as I'm doing what I'm paid to.

I've no doubt that at some point, I will have given feedback that would have resulted in people getting disciplined, I've worked in retail, and that's not a nice thing, but I would hope when I've been in a similar situation I've learnt from it.

By the same token, probably the best thing about this job is being able to give praise where it's due, especcially as hard work can easily go un-noted in retail.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

LIL_ME, some of our posts did go. Not sure what we did wrong. All I said was fees should not be mentioned and we should not lie when doing MS'ing. If you feel uncomfortable doing a job (and I'm not having a pop at anyone), then don't do it. I think that's why they say if you have any close connections with staff, i.e. friends/family, then don't do such visits.

Hi SUPER. I'm still around. How's things with you? All good I hope.

I just decided to stop posting on here. It got a bit boring with the same questions being asked over and over again, and dumb people mentioning fees and such like which the title clearly prohibits. Also, I noticed all the originals that used to post when I first started off have disappeared, so I felt a bit out of place.

Also, to anyone with a video recorder - RA fees have gone up now for those visits. Not sure if they are worthwhile but just thought I would mention it. And the health shops currently have the "sale" on, so these are slightly more worthwhile even though the fees are not quite as generous as RE (did I just say that?).

Hope all the other regulars are OK and that you are all keeping well, and making shed loads of money at the same time :p:D

Gosh if that's the fee after its gone up, what was it before? No don't answer that :wall:

Quicky - can anyone remember off hand if you get an aknowledgement from gap after sending an email/enquiry via the form on the website - I sent one earlier but my browser crashed so am not sure if it sent, and for some reason am loathe to risk 'spamming' them with a resend!
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
