I shall see about getting that updated (not sure when tho' as money's tight enough:D)
many thanks for your replies you two, am very appreciative for the sound advice that you have given me. I wasn't expecting much in the way of making that a load of money from this as it was only a bit of pin money really. as winter approaches, i'd have less time to spend on my allotment, so i'll have hours spare at the w/e.
can i ask two more questions?
are there time slots for these assignments where you need to be there specifically, say busy periods for retailers - lunchtime or w/ends where there's more footfall? (depending on the nature of the business obviously).
now that i've completed my profile and my defined areas, how long would i expect these assignments will come in for MF?
thanks so much
Hi there
When assignments appear on MF, you will see assignment notes to read, and also a hyperlink which shows you the time slots for each job depending which day you book it in for. Don't ever do it outside those times, as the proofreaders are very picky and will refuse to pay you. It's different for each job, so always check. Now you are registered, you'll need to log in each day and keep an eye open, as they don't email you when they have assignments available. What I would say, as others already have, is don't count on lots of work from them, it's not great pay, and there are a lot of people taking the work. Sign on to lots of different sites, and then fit MF jobs in around the better paid ones if you possibly can. And keep all receipts, and details of any mileage/car park tickets/etc, as they all help to keep the tax bill down when your accounts are submitted.

hey skintsocks! i really appreciate your quick reply. i've just checked and there's one already. the assignment is for a period from 17 - 23rd of Sept. does that mean i can choose any day within that period, and also the time slot is Sun - Sat 10 - 1700 more or less, so does that mean i can do the job anytime between those hours? sorry for stating the obvious, but i don't want to bodge it up for my first one! even if i don't do this one (if others get there before me which i don't mind) then at least i know about these factors.
what about the fee tho - if it states buy something for max. amount of ££ then you get that reimbursed and is that it? you get to keep the product and nothing else on top of that like an extra fee say? as this particular job has no mention of anything else other than a reimbursement...
thanks again for helping a newbie out..0 -

Some of their jobs are fee plus reimbursement, some are reimbursement only - so for the job you are looking at, you can do at anytime between those dates (when you go to accept assignment it will ask you on which date you intend to do it), and in the time slot specified. You will only receive a reimbursement to the amount shown. Nothing more at all. The pub/food jobs are reimbursement usually - and don't always cover the cost of the experience, but that's ok if you fancied going out, as it gives you a subsidised visit (but no money in the bank). Others are reimbursement for buying an item - your payment is then the item itself, nothing on top. If you spend more, you have to pay the extra yourself.
It'll all start to make sense when you get going. And don't worry about questions - I wish someone had helped me when I started. And yet, I STILL go to to the wrong place sometimes; hate those businesses that have more than one venue in the same road!:embarasse

yup the timescales are when you can do the job and submit, not before or after.
as for the fee... yup thats it..... I did warn you :rotfl: in many cases the reimbursement will not cover all the cost of the purchase... and they dont care about that either
have you registered self employed yet ? you have 30 days from your first job I believe to do so. and yes those no fee reimbursement jobs are taxable too !0 -

It's worth remembering that unless it says not too then the product you buy can be returned at a later date for a refund.0 -
