Morning all.
There are so many problems around today. All I can suggest to those who are in overload is to forget MSE for a day and cut corners where you can.
Am expecting that any moment a hand will appear from my screen holding a ruler and will rap me smartly across the knuckles for that last remark.:rotfl:
Today I am determined to get to the end of my ironing mountain. I will not be distracted. I will not chat to anyone who phones. I will not invite in any callers (unless they are in tears and oviously in need of tea and sympathy). I will not suddenly decide that today is an ideal opportunity to reorganise my knicker drawer.
I will IRON, IRON, IRON.;););)
Hope everyone will have a better day than I intend to have.
But first I must have a swift injection of caffeine.:D

woke up this morning (well didnt sleep much in the night as well) with sore throat, ear ache and the left side of my face stuffed up. So now I am dosed up with some pain killers and drinking a nice hot lemonade and honey.
dogs are curled up beside/on top of me and i can hear the cat snoring.
have some washing to do and some general house work (dusting etc) to do, thankfully dinner i cooked last night. Lamb curry so I just need to cook rice and make naans or chapatis to go with it.
Thank you Butterfly Brian for warning me about the dogs and slugs will keep a good eye out, there seems to be so many of them at the moment0 -
Afternoon everyone.
Have hoovered and done a trip to Dunelm to stock up on my cheap fleeces for DS to sleep with. He's really stressed at moment, not coping very well with school and he was getting very upset again when getting ready for schoolanyway I hope he likes his fleeces at any rate.
Want to bake some donut muffins in a sec and settle down at some point to watch Wartime Farm as I missed it last night.
H is off for his informal walk around for job interview this aft so I hope it stays dry for him. Nice and breezy this morning so I hope the washing has dried.
Not sure what's for tea yet, haven't thought that far ahead
Cat glad your H is settling in.to him being so busy though
Hilstep hmmmm VERY interesting bruise!!!!
Monnagran enjoy your ironing
Tiglath sorry to hear about your auntxxxx

Hi all
We had a lovely meal at the pub last night; Lucy was ever so good, she sat on her cushion (we took it with us to save her rather elderly bottom from the cold stone floor in there):D and the barmaid provided a bowl of water for her.:A
Hester our sofa's a little too narrow for much,:D but in any case, it's positioned close to the wall, so no chance of it tipping over!;):D
BB thanks for that info re slugs causing lungworm in dogs – I wasn't aware of that!
Tiglath (((HUG))) sorry to hear about your Auntie.
Cat Sending stay-safe vibes to your DH. You must be very proud of him.
Taplady oh no, bummer about the weekend; back pain is awful though; I hope Taplord can get some relief.
Hilstep sorry to hear about your colleague; you're right, 62 is way too young.:( That's Mr LW's age! I hope you're having a better day today; I have to say I did smile it the idea of w black bag round your injured arm to take a bath. I have a bath lift too – great, aren't they?:o
Happy Birthday to Miss Uolypool.
Bitsy best of luck for DH's “informal walkround” - it sounds hopeful, but I know only too well that you can't take anything for granted.
I've given Lucy a good brushing, and done her "postcard home" as she's due to be picked up at 16:00 this afternoon. Then we're dogless til 23rd September, so we can have days out while Mr LW's on leave without having to factor in a doggy. On 23rd we have Dylan the Lurcher returning, so that'll be good.:o
Mr LW is in the kitchen making a sandwich - I swear that man has hollow legs!!:D
We picked a load of apples yesterday - there are some old apple trees on public land near here, and we took Lucy for her walk there. I made some mincemeat which used some up yesterday, and today I shall make a blackberry and apple crumble.:drool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW snails carry it as well

DD2 has just rung to say she has been offered a job at Debenh@ms :j:j its only over xmas but it will really help.
she has done well as she had to fill in an online application, do a telephone interview and then go in for a group interview and a formal one to one interview , all this for a 16 year old  she does have the gift of the gab though
my course was really interesting and definitely gave me food for thought , i have to present my findings to the bosses next week .
just havinga cuppa ,then will pick up DD2 from school
bitsy good luck to DH
tappers sorry about your weekend xx0 -
Afternoon All
Hilstep - Big hugs to you, that arm looks very painful in a cheery sort of way!
Taplady - Sorry your weekend has been cancelled, hope Taplord's back improves soon.
Sistercas - Well done to DD, what a lot of interviews!
Tiglath - Hugs to you, sorry to hear of your Aunt's passing.
Happy birthday to someones DD (sorry, lost all memory!)
Good wishes to all the others having a rough time at the moment.
Been very busy all week, working both jobs most days including tonight
but have tomorrow off. Going to meet DD from work at 6 and go for something to eat as it's 7 years ago tomorrow that DH lost his fight with cancer. DD likes us to do something together. DS1 wont come as he doesn't speak to us and DS2 is in Greece on holiday. Still, we can chat about the good times.
House not too bad but the washing is still drying indoors as the weather has been so poor and too windy to even try today!
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Take care. XX0
