more and more places have a dispenser up near the till eg cameron's and synge and burn have lovely dispensers usually with orange and mint leaves in them. if i'm buying food then i expect to at least be offered water even if i don't want it. or the next time i go elsewhere0

it was quite good if you were a nervous flier because the normality of getting served food and eating it was a welcome distraction from the fact that you were 30,000 feet above the ground.0 -

Cafe Nero and Avoca, to name but two, have the right idea. They have a jug and glases available near the till so you can help yourself.0 -

You dont have to pay it, therefore they're certainly not TAKING it from you.
Its not hospitality - they're running a business. You either pay their prices or you dont.0 -

Bemused that you're happy to pay Cafe Neros prices for their rather average food, but think they're great because they give you "free" water. :rotfl:0 -
