That was certainly an interesting couple of months! The Sun wanted to publish the story of the notorious prize. They got as far as writing it, and sending over a photographer and make-up artist to do a photoshoot, which was lots of goofy fun.
In the end, they decided not to go ahead with it because we don't have any wedding photos. :-/
But Bella thought it was a fab story. They rewrote it, and now it's going to be in issue 46, out on November 6th. Along with some cheesey holiday snaps and a few not-entirely-accurate details added for narrative effect.
And since this is exactly the sort of place where it's ok to talk about money, I thought you'd find it interesting that in addition to the £1800 in divorce fees, maritalaffair.co.uk gave me £250 for my co-operation, and Bella are giving me £300 for the story. I've kept 50 for myself to treat a very good friend to a couple of lovely meals out and a day out (amazing how far you can make it go if you are frugal!) and the rest I'm sharing with my ex-husband to pay for plane tickets between Newcastle and Holland.
I've not won anything else in a month. But that's fine by me. :-)0 -
I still love this, and I'm so pleased it went to such an amicable ex-couple

I have so enjoyed reading this thread!
I hope everything goes well for you and your (soon to be ex) husband in the future.
It's nice that the magazine are running the story though and you get something out of it.
You see lots of competitions for "win your dream wedding", I guess it's only fitting to have one for a divorce. It's nice that it's gone to such a nice person as you that really needs it, iyswim.
Congratulations (in a nice way) and good luck again for the future.
