I think it's fab that such an odd prize actually is going to someone who needs it!

Glad to here it is an amicable thing as well :) x

(and not so sure about the 'ethics' of it from a dating site)

Do you see the "dating site" though? It has a tagline of "The UK's NO.1 Affair Website" -

Very well done on your win - glad it went to someone who genuinely needed it :)
    Thanks to all posters :A

I did. Oh I have so so few scruples. ;) It's not a site I've used, or ever would, but I can understand why there is a market for it. I might think a little differently about it if I have to do any promotion in order to get my prize. Who wants to be publicly associated with that sort of thing? But for that much money, which will make a big difference to both of us, I'll smile for the camera and take my cheque!

I entered with my tongue very firmly in my cheek, mostly because it seemed like a ridiculous thing to do. It made me smile, I filled in my details and forgot all about it. It's typical of my life that I've not even won a Fruity Pot, but I won this.

I didn't mean my comment as anything toward you hunnie! I am genuinely pleased that you won it and actually needed it! xx

Someone said about it being a dating site - I've never seen one that actively promotes affairs! (And tbh think there shouldn't be any!) I know if people are going to cheat on their husbands / wives / partners then they will regardless of whatever the site is called, but still. I think it's a little wrong :o

  • This has made me smile so much! Such an insane prize, yet it's gone to someone who truly appreciates it. Karma is amazing sometimes. I hope with the money you and your (soon to be ex-)husband save you can treat yourself to something nice. And best wishes to you and your husband, I hope you both go on to have happy, peaceful futures xx
:hello:Hello and thanks to all you gorgeous MSErs posting comps, answers and advice xx
  • well done, really nice to see a prize won that will make a real change in your life! now, does anybody know of a competition where I can win a husband ha ha !

I feel a hollywood movie coming on, where you win the divorce, share it with your other half and then you realise you don't need it after all....

No, I am pleased that you are pleased. It is great to win, but I definitely wouldn't have wanted that prize.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
