  • He should just get an iphone 5, if he gets the 4s he will only regret not getting the 5 and if he gets an android phone, they go out of date too quickly. Cheers, Jared.

I would not worry too much about the phone having LTE at the moment, if you buy a phone with it great but don't buy a phone because of it.

With only one network only having LTE for almost a full year, it you would only be able to use it on EE and live in an LTE area to even be able to use it.

I would have to say that for me, LTE in a brand new phone is important. I don't fancy buying a new phone every 12 months, and if the lad has worked all summer to afford a new one, I'd rather get the phone that will last longer and give most functionality. LTE is the future of data downloading and whilst orange/Tmobile (aka EE) look to have the headstart, I don't believe it will be just them for the whole year ahead. Besides, what if he's with orange/T-mobile anyway? He could benefit from those speeds sooner. For me, LTE is the biggest factor in this discussion.

It sounds as if EE will actually have 3 brands: Orange, T-Mobile and EE for the 4G service which will initially only be available in 16 UK towns and cities. Existing Orange and T-Mobile customers will not automatically have access to the 4G EE service and will presumably have to take out new contracts or get new SIMs.
  • Hey maggiesoop! In my opinion, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 both are best in its own place. As iPhone 5 is the next generation of iPhone it'll be having some additional or advanced features.

Just got my mum to buy a 4. She has no need for anything so new, not outdated, not slow, works nicely. And she now has a pick of accessories for it, especially the ones being sold by 5 owners because they don't want the messy solution of the adaptor! Plus it was significantly cheaper!
