That happened soon after I moved into a house in Belfast. The house seemed to be riddled with those garden spiders. That's how I finally got over my fear of them - it was them or me!! :rotfl:
*cringe*
Snap, when we moved in there just seemed to be so many f them due to the furniture being taken out, spring clean of the house etc ... I went from not being able to stay in the same room as them to being able to lean/ reach over there webs to get to something.
As long as they dont jump out from knowhere im ok with them now, expecially the garden ones .. apart from walking face first into the webs, lol ... Then i kinda freak out :eek:Ant. :cool:0 -
probably a garden spider. They come indoors at this time of the year looking for shelter from the coming winter0

Urgh! Came home the other night to find both cats looking really shifty in the bathroom, turned out they were "playing" with a massive spider. Yuck.... Usually they eat them but this one was obviously more fun to play with. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Put it outside then 2 days later see spider running accross the floor... put it out..... and then 2 days later again the same thing. Is this the same spider ? !! Do they know how to get back to a prefered spot or is it mulitple spiders ?
It may well be the same spider, apparently you have to move them over a mile away for them not to find their way back. There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.0 -
i see these most times hanging in the bushes in my garden (wasp spider)
also i get to see a few flower crab spiders usually in the spring summer, but not this year. (flower crab an change colour to the flower it has set up shop on!).
if its dark brown as supposed medium to light brown and has a lighter wine bottle shape on its back looks fat rather than normal shap then its a false widdow and should stear clear and let it get on with it chances are if we have a really cold autum winter it wont survive.
you would of hate to have worked where i did, i worked ina plastic factory for some time, they exported all sorts to the continent, we would have the crates back with some interesting visitors in, one was spanish grasshopper about the size of the palm of you hand, the other was avery very large hornet, one was a tirantula, on the other scale, we had a mum and her 6 kittens, a puppy, and an owl.0 -
My flats being overrun with BIG spiders found one on Sunday (im say found - o saw it screamed and ran for hubby!) That was over 3" across - he measured it lol.
There's also been a couple of slightly smaller ones and then last night on the porch was a fake widow (am fairly certain it was this species, as we had a outbreak of them last year...)0 -
I really am starting to wonder why I started this thread... it's giving me the creeps!!
