Spider!

Oh my God the second picture really made me jump :rotfl:
Ugh, that's one huge spider. I'm quite scared of them. I can tolerate the small and medium sized one and rehouse them without too much screaming. But a monster like that????? I just wouldn't touch it!0 -
You call that a spider? This is a spider!
Unfortunately there's no 'un' thanks button

I think I'll be doing the same myself...

I'm no expert but am a bit of a spider aficionado. It looks to me like a large garden spider - looks way too big to be a false widow. It could also be a wolf spider which would explain the wispy, unstructured web. If it's a female of either, they are male-aggressive after mating which might explain the carcass and fleeing shed-refugee!
I've heard of larger spiders being able to give a nasty nip so be a little wary, otherwise leave it be.

Thanks HBS.
So if it is a female, what's the chances we're gonna have millions of them down the line if she reproduces...

Wel if she keeps being so cranky with the males, she may not reproduce at all :rotfl:0 -

Hopefully not too high - baby spiders tend to shift well away from their mum as she's not averse to eating them either, although some species the mum dies once her babies hatch. Some baby spiders will also spin a "parachute" with their first silk, and this will carry them to a new home. It's fascinating.
