    Good morning all,

I am ashamed to say ive put the heating on. I dont 'do' cold in any shape or form.

Son has gone to college he certainly is doing longer hours than he did at school. He's got further to travel too but so far, he's enjoying it.

Beds are stripped and the washer is on but i think today will be another tumble dryer day as it looks like rain. We'll see.

Heard from eldest son last night. Ive been texting him for days with no response but he messaged me to say he loves me. He didnt say how he was or anything. Ive sent him another message but so far no response.

My daughter in South Africa and her partner had one of the babies they were fostering placed with his adopted family yesterday.... certainly time to celebrate! I'm so proud of them. They still have 2 others placed in their care. The one they are hoping to adopt. His name is 'Soldier' he was abandoned by his Father after the Mother ran off after giving birth. His Father gave him the name Soldier as he said to have no Mother to care for him and a Father who couldnt cope was going to mean he was going to have to be a warrior to get through life.

Anyway i'm waffling... anything rather than start doing the vacuuming i suppose.

    Have a great day all,

    morning!

had a lovely lazy start to the day by lying in bed with a cuppa for an hour and finishing my book - it was very exciting and I couldnt put it down. (John Hart - The Last Child for those of you who like thrillers)

Work later for me so DH is freezer surfing for his dinner.

House clean and tidy - ish.

Washing on line but it will probably need finishing off in the dryer.

I need to tidy my spare room - which is really my art studio now:) paints and equipment all over the place. It also doubles as my drying room for the laundry. It is very handy having a spare room.

DH is not well at the moment - his sciatica is back with a vengeance. As usual he's carried on working but has just sent a message to me saying he is taking rest of week off.We are going away in our camper at the weekend so am hoping he's feeling better by then.

RR - hope DD is feeling better today x

BB - hope Maud is ok x x

nlj - we are lucky where I work(similar setting to where your son lives) as the neighbours are all very kind and despite a fair amount of noise they have only ever been nice to us.

    better do something I suppose!;)

    Take care all x

  • Hi all
Well I'm back. Last weds eve I was up two steps of a stepladder when it broke beneath me:eek: As soon as I hit the floor I knew that my left arm was broken, Then there was all this blood and i thought my bone was through the skin so I just grabbed the top of my arm. help came via lifeline and it turned out that the blood was from a gash above my eye.
at the hospital my daughter said I looked like ~i had been in an RTA:eek:
Spent a week in hospital and now have a titanium plate in it:o
My black eye is going now, and I am healing. Should take 6 to 8 weeks so nothing to d:oo here except read, watch telly and use laptop, so will be logging on more than usual:rotfl:
Had a good sleep last night, so going off now, check in later.:T

Morning all - just got back from yet another medical appointment. My thyroid's still seriously underactive which explains why I'm not healing well after the disc op; got some problems with the incision going manky. Thyroxine increased from 100mcg to 150mcg - I should start to feel the effects in a few days, and at least I know I'm not imagining how icky I feel. Just one more liver and kidney bloodtest this week, and then I'm done with medical people for 2 weeks. Beginning to feel like a very old lady here!

Given how rough everything is, I'm giving up all grandiose plans to sort the house out - it will have to wait for a while. We'll just have to muddle through - I'm going to spend the next couple of weeks being kind to myself instead of frustrated by everything I can't do. Making an executive decision to watch TV for the rest of the day; cheese omelettes for dinner tonight although I'm off food at the moment for the most part. I always take the first week in January off for spring cleaning - if it all has to wait till then, so be it. If I manage to get all work clothes clean and ready to wear over the next fortnight, I'll call that a success.

Tiglath, I'm on 225mg and still feel sluggish!

Being gassed out by my eldest dog every minute or so. Ugh. School looked ok, Chris liked it (til he realises he'll have to go everyday!) but we will see what happens next. Chilly inside so am off to keep busy!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
