tbw - dont confuse yourself - you are exactly right in what you had in your head before , trigger + 2, 5 or 8. In your case you had done it right & the glitch worked as it should it's just unfortunate that the cif didnt compare and !!!!!!ed it all up.

May I add to this: Check the sa scans your items correctly and check your receipt before you leave the shop - the other day I had 2 messed-up shops because the sa never weighed my veg fillers, but put them straight through!:eek:
I was too eager to hotfoot it to the car with my stash to check the receipt before I got home
