  • I worked for PO Telephones/British Telecom/BT for 28 years. Most of this time was on Traffic Service and then Customer Service, who dealt with complaints of malicious calls. I cannot recall ever finding, disconnecting or prosecuting anyone. All we did was change the victims' numbers.

However, whilst swearing at debt collectors is very tempting, and may be no less than they deserve, it's not a nice thing to do to anyone.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

It don't half make you feel a lot better though when they keep ringing up every other day for someone who's not had your phone number for at least 4 years :D

We changed it in the end as the calls were unbearable.. soon wished we hadn't as we get calls for 3 different people now

But you are not making the malicious calls , I would say they are ;) and whilst its not very nice to have someone to tell you to eff off., remember who these people are working for, low life grubby scum bags who encourage their staff to lie and intimidate people on the phone, they train these people to do this, and they get some form of commission for each one. I have no compunction in swearing at them, but as I only give a throwaway pay as you go number to companies they will never be able to contact myself.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Nope, cleared the cache and it's still there.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

If you want peace of mind just pay them what they are contracted to collect from you.

Parking is rarely free these days, you very often have to pay to park on the street in most towns now.

You see mikey? Instead of being annoying, why can't you be more like nobby? He's always good for a laugh.

Always makes me chuckle when people say "peace of mind". Makes 'em sound like a spotty adolescent trying to trying to sell an extended warranty on a toaster.

    Ignore this mis-informed advice
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

Re phone calls. Would being on the TPS make a difference? Would their call be illegal in that respect as there is of course, no debt to collect and no reason to effectively 'cold call' you?

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

How does that work then Mikey? Surely they would only take action if you are a person making malicious calls.

The scenario here is people responding rudely to unsolicited calls that are being made to them, which is an entirely different thing and not one that I'm aware BT or any other telecoms company would take any sort of position on.
  • Many thanks to all of you as I was just about to pay a so called fine. In June I parked In an ncp Car park and like ianec-98 I parked next to a row of cars and when I returned late at night my car had a ticket but if I wrongly parked so must have the other 11 cars in the row. I took a photo of my parked car to show within white line (front only as car park gravel at back and no lines). I paid my £4 per day fee and was fined £25.00 this has now risen to £104.00 and threats of ccj and bailiffs. I would rather pay than have bailiffs pestering me and my young family as I have seen in some threads they have actually done and taken garden furniture and toys!!! Will they do this and why do some bailiffs act as stated in some threads I am reading and some say they won't!!! Any help appreciated as I am still slightly worried and think I should pay the money rather than the Hassle of the letters calls n bailiffs?
