Carbon Monoxide Alarm

  • There is nothing to say that this CO alarm has not been triggered by a neighbouring appliance or coal fire leaking CO into the OP's property. It being located upstairs means it may be picking up CO upstairs leaking from a loft? OP may not have located it in the correct place for her appliances but I've got LL's who are now installing them upstairs too (the good ones anyway).
Cant offer any other advice that that passed on already other than mentioning you have asked Gas Safe for a free inspection of the gas appliances, this sometimes makes them move because if anything is identified they're in the sh*t.

Spoke to a guy from HA again about 5pm.

    He spoke to PH Jones again who said they will not send and engineer out until I get the test. He explained to me the reason why, here goes;

Apparently according to them we could still have levels of Monoxide in system

I'm sorry & there was me thinking that PH Jones were gas engineers i didn't know they were doctors.

and that if this is the case Transco/ National Grid will need to come out as is could be coming from elsewhere.

That is rubbish PH Jones need to find out where it is coming from Nat Grid won't do that, especially if your alarm isn't going off anymore, if it was coming from somewhere else it would still be going off.

If the test is clear PH Jones, the contractor will come out to us !!

so what they are saying is that if you have been poisioned then they aren't interested, but if you are clear then there isn't a problem so why should we come out anyway.

    AARGGHH!!!!

i would speak to them tomorrow or better go there if you can, & tell them you are giving them one more chance to have an engineer with you within 4 hrs or you are going to phone the HSE & report them for allowing a faulty appliance to remain un-checked & tell them you are going to report PH Jones to gas safe for failure to comply with their gas safe registration by refusing to attend to a faulty appliance.

A quote from Jones web site "Importantly, safety is our number one priority. All social housing services are undertaken with a strong emphasis on health and safety, and we are also committed to positive environmental and sustainable working practices"

    some phone numbers for you

    PH Jones 01928 570300

HSE not sure where you are this link will give you your local office number http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/maps/index.htm

British Gas 0800 294 9650 (as PH Jones are part of their group)

I would also fill out PH Jones customer reply form & put down everything that PH Jones has said http://www.phjones.co.uk/customer-service.html

they are now part of British Gas so no wonder you are getting such bad service.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

cheers for all your advise on this, really appreciate it.

Going to get blood tested at blood centre tomorrow. Doing it as a means to an end and after its done, whoever comes I will definitely be pursuing this further with HA and PH Jones.

Didn't know they were now part of British Gas though, cheers !!
  • Unexpected call from PH Jones this morning, engineer coming out to test for CO !!
