Looks like it pays to complain. Sky sent me a feedback email after i came off the phone call from the first idiot to which I marked every question as unsatisfactory. I've since had a phone call from sky and they have cancelled my phone and broadband with no fuss whatsoever and not even a cancellation fee and also told me i wasn't even in a contract. Happy days!

Sounds to me like their retention advisors used the wrong tactics to stop you from leaving, such is the pressure in call centres these days.0
