Bargainbird stupid question but what sort of food does Maud eat? Is it dried? When I had something stuck in my throat I always ate dry bread. Worth a try with maud maybe? If she eats dried food then might not be much pointI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Bitsy - great photo :]]
BargainBird - hope Maud gets the all clear
Been to the Lottie this morning with DH, we've exchanged our old plot for another plot on the same site, our old one wasn't getting any sun at all so the growing season was not only shorter but the veg was poor due to lack of sunlight, the new plot is 3 times bigger, covered in weeds [4ft tall] and there is rubbish tucked away all over the place, brambles that are about 15ft long and 3" thick so we're working hard to try and get it in order, DH is being a star and is there every spare minute he has, some of the cutting back is too hard for me to do so I'm in charge of the gentle weeding lol and in charge of keeping our old plot ticking over until March when we can give it up for good and just concentrate on the new one. We have big plans for the new plot!!
Have a good day everyone

Helen yes, it's 'orribly windy - I was glad of my legwarmers for Lucy's lunchtime walk. We found a small blackberry mine, so I'm glad I thought to take a pot with me in the scooter basket.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

LameWolf ive got a Lucy too.
Well ive come back from visiting my Auntie and ive cried buckets after coming home.
She had a stroke a few months ago and was getting over that and she fell a few weeks ago and broke her hip. She was in hospital for a time and taken to a nursing home to reccuperate for 2 weeks. There is a marked deteriation in her physical and mental state since i saw her just before her fall. The first thing that struck me was her lips, they are blue. The last person i saw with blue lips was my daughter in the final stages of heart failure. Further on in our discussion i noticed she mentioned that she had been to see her Mother on the bus... Her Mother died the day after Aunties husband 13 years ago. Now i would imagine this would be due to the stroke but i've seen several times since she had her stroke and she definately didnt hallucinate then. She definately didnt have blue lips either.
Her lodger usually gives us a little time together on our own which usually gave Auntie a little space to have a whinge about him but he decided to sit in on our conversation this time. He wasnt any cleaner than the last time i saw him but this time he smelt too. I think he is struggling as well as Auntie is. He's got type 2 diabetes but doesnt take tablets and doesnt look after his diet either. He is now having problems with his eyesight.
I'm really at a loss as to what to do or say. I take comfort in knowing Auntie's son sees her every weekend and he seems to be looking after her in his own way but theres little things that concern me. I'm not close to her son and dont know where he lives so i cant contact him. Ive mentioned a few of my concerns to the lodger (who has now become Aunties carer) but i dont think its my place to say anymore.
Ive had two cups of coffee (with milk that had gone off) and i turned down the biscuits (told them i was on a diet).
I am distraught to say the least.
I know one thing, i need to see her more often. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
