Morning everyone
Lovely and sunny here, hope it lasts.
Just the usual pottering today. My extra dog houseguest goes home tomorrow. Good job because aside from the extra dog hairs I have to keep hoovering she's prone to chewing everything she can get her hands on  I think we've been rather spoilt with Luna being so laid back :rotfl:
H had a job interview yesterday. He's had another rejection to a job he applied for online so he's starting to feel despondenthe lost out on every job he applied for at his old work, he feels he's not even getting to interview stage with lots of jobs he's applying for. It's hard to keep him a bit positive
Anyway OS is BM being on. Going to bake some muffins for lunchboxes and the usual daily chores.
Tea I think will be cod and chorizo parcels
BB didn't post yesterday but hugs for Maud xxxxx

Morning all,
My meeting with my doctor was successful. All my medication is now on a 28 day repeat prescription which will be easier for ordering. He is happy with my blood pressure on the new medication and he wont need to see me because of it for 9 months. He has given me a course of antibiotics as ive an ear infection as well as an kidney infection. I feel like i'm dropping to bits!
I am also doing something today that ive been putting off doing for so long. I'm going to visit my dear old Auntie who is recovering after coming out of hospital a couple of weeks ago. I dont really know why ive been putting it off because i love her so much. I dont know whether its seeing her frail and old (and she repeats herself a lot), whether its the state of her lovely detatched house being neglected for the want of a damn good clean (she wont let me help her without paying me and i wont have money off her plus the fact i dont want her son to think i am taking over). I dont like her lodger either. He's pleasant enough and always glad to see me but he's dirty.... very dirty (i mean he needs a good scrub), he repeats himself too.:( Also, Auntie reminds me of my Mum and when i think of my Mum it reminds me that i'm not good enough.
Last time i went to see her i came away feeling so sad. I feel like she needs a daughters love (her son visits and moans about the state of the place but doesnt exactly do anything to help her). I said i'd be round about 1pm.
Oh well, best get on with it. I'll start off by collecting my medication.
Have a great day all,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all,
Very mixed here today one minute rain the next glorious sunshine.
Just waiting for my friend to knock on, we are off for a walk and then a cappuccino at our cafe in the park.
Managed to control myself this morning as my last little one set of for 6th form, all six foot of him lol, he looked so lovely and smart.
Just spoke to middle son in Australia who has cooked a death by chocolate cake for his girlfriends birthday. All my older three are great cooks, still working on the youngest one:cool:
Off to Yorkshire this afternoon for tea with dm and dd, roast dinner so that will be nice. I'm not expecting a good weight loss this week, have picked all week so it's my own fault, hoping the walking will help.
Our viewers from Saturday want to come for a second viewing so we shall see. I feel very negative about the whole house selling process at the mo but who knows.
Anyway off to walk in the rain. Have good days all j xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning All
Bright and sunny with a nice wind, so one load of washing on the line and one in the machine.
DH has just got home from his first shift and has grabbed his mid morning snack.
DS is still in bed, evidently they don't start college properly until next Monday. His tutor helped him to apply for a bursary seeing as the Tories *SPIT* have done away with EMA
Hester...don't you dare work for nothing, the more you do the more you may is a true old saying and it is their problem because they got rid of too many staff. That is the trouble with this country, the toffs just want a slave labour force
Bitsy I hope DH finds a job soon, has he thought of trying something other than he usually does?
When my DH was made redundant, the only job that he could get at the time was a site agent at a lower school, yes it is low paid, but we do get WTC (At the moment until the Tories *SPIT* get rid of that too ) As an added bonus he loves the job.
If you live near an airport they are usually looking for staff, or try your council web site to see if they have anything going.
Put him on the computer and google job site websites or even just jobs in ..... insert your area.
I really hope he finds something soon, because the last thing you need is for him to get depressed
Try to keep him busy, by giving him little jobs to do, even picking up the children from school helps, he might meet other Dad's who he can chat to in the playground because sadly there are a lot of families in the same position. I wish you both well and hope that he finds something soon x

Morning everyone ,well its a lot cooler today although the sun is shining at the moment there is a nice breeze which makes it a more pleasant day.I like the sunshine but once it gets over 20c I am not so keen.
Boys are all well and tucked into school today I only have the dogs to let out at lunchtime for a leek.I am having a pottering day today a sort of 'bitsa' day bits of this and bits of that ironing, dusting ,hoovering etc but only at my pace which isn't very fast:)
I popped into Icelands and bought some milk and mayo as that was all I needed on my shopping pad so I can happily stay away from the shops for a few more days.
<<Hugs for those who are going through a tough time at the moment .I see so many chaps taking their children to school now and its so sad as often they have been trying so hard to get a job and there is just nothing about. The country feels like everything is on its knees at the moment, although not yet as bad as Greece or Spain who are really going through it.
I know the Olympics have cheered lots of folk up but there is still an underlying problem of unemployment for millions of families. Its quite worrying as we are not an underdeveloped country and should be really booming Where will it end I wonder.and whats the future for our grandchildren .
Oh dear I'm sounding quite gloomy but I don't mean to be.Did anyone see the adverts for MA on t.v. last night I'm trying to work out what its all about, and how much is that costing I wonder
Take care all

Morning all
Sunny here but breezy and cool so washing will be out in a minute. Plans for today include finishing off my photobook as the offer ends midnight tonight ,ironing DH's shirts and practising my crochet. Oh and a little cleaning and vacuuming!
Off to a foodbank meeting tonight at 5.00 so tea will be filled pasta from the freezer with tomato sauce and grated cheese sprinkled over. That is our current favourite emergency meal at the moment. I am going to make green soup for lunch with some of the lettuce from the garden that is getting a bit old, a courgette, spring onions and frozen peas.
HH don't work for them in your own time-but I know it's hard if you are conscientious.
Flutterby good luck with your new team.
JackieO enjoy the peace while your grandsons are back at school.
Bitsey sending positive vibes to OH.
Halight keep up the good (house)work.
Hugs and kind thoughts to all.

Good morning, from a bright and sunny island.
I am amazed at how some of you get up and immediately start rushing around. I did it all my working life but these days it takes me ages to get going. However, we have a visitor coming tomorrow so have contented myself today with a quick flick around the bottom of the house. I'm not wasting my efforts and energy on a good clean today because the Rev will have managed to undo it all by tomorrow.
As for food, I have some mushrooms and tomatoes that desperately need using up so will do something I saw on here sometime ago - put chunks of cooked potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, garlic (don't think I've any in), peppers and bacon bits in an oven dish. Sprinkle with olive oil and roast. My own refinement is to top it with mixed breadcrumbs and grated cheese for a crunchy topping. Lovely, the fridge will be relieved of a few manky odds and sods and the meal will have cost pennies.
HH: What are you thinking? Don't you dare give that skanky crowd any of your valuable time for free.
Essex Girl: Ecloths, microfibre whatever are brilliant but they don't like the TD. or at least mine don't.
Tiglath: rest up! the kitchen and bathroom aren't going anywhere. They will still be there when you have more energy.
Uolypool: Children's assemblies are usually hilarious. The best one I ever heard was one where a solemn and dignified 10 year old boy read out a long piece about the Passover, the annual Jewish feast. The word 'annual' was repeated many times and it was just unfortunate that the child pronounced it every time as 'Anal'. By the end the staff were clutching the walls and weeping with laughter.
Judi: That is so sad for you having to visit your aunt under those circumstances.
BB: It's not only the toffs that want slave labour, it strikes me that everyone wants something for nothing these days and slave labour or not some people are so desperate for a job that they will accept anything. Some of the worst 'slave labour' examples I have heard about have been from some immigrants who are ripping off their own countrymen. SOME immigrants and SOME toffs and SOME bosses are unprincipled parasites and it is awful. But with the economic situation as it has been for a good few years now even the good ones are feeling the pinch and those on benefits don't stand a chance of being any better treated. There are less and less people in employment to raise the money for the benefit system. EEK! Is this me being political?
I'm going befoer I get into trouble.

Hester I agree with the others - no way should you be putting in hours for free. You'll get no thanks for it, and they'll just keep piling more and more work onto you.:(
We're going to have mushroom risotto for dins tonight; I really need Mr LW to sit down with me to do some meal-planning, though. It's not going to be so easy for the next week and a half, as he's on leave from Thursday til the end of next week, and will want to go out and do things, so we won't know what days we'll be here or if we'll be out somewhere. With the weather so up and down, we can't really plan ahead much for days out.
I can hear little "wuff-wuff" noises from the other end of the lounge - I think Lucy's dreaming.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

It made me smile that MSE is advocated as being one of the best sites to get budgeting help:D
