  • Hi HDK, just wanted to pop in a say

Still to trying to get time to read all your diary but I am totally amazed that you manage everything with the kids and work (I struggle to work part time and only have one son!!)

Hiya Welsh mummy. Working and kids are challenging, I have been very lucky with retired parents nearby and being able to build in flexibility round my hours plus Dave has always been very flexible where possible. On the homeward straight now they are all in secondary school and walk to and from independently. Just glad studying now finally finished. Still find full time hard at times but seemed to have found balance now, working 4 long days rather than the 5x 7-3 which was a killer.

Bought my park tickets, very expensive and has blown all of the life insurance cheque money... through tcb of course. But it's going to be worth it.
Still on track with mfw and do need to enjoy life as we travel along. Very keen to shed more weight so have the energy to enjoy the parks fully. Aim is minimum 2 stone. Have ramped up my efforts by plan to increase as exercise, went to boot camp Friday, next week have booked zumba, spinning, aerobics and boot camp. My membership is due end of the month so will need to sort.

Had to buy various school items today, as well as shoes but not too bad and everyone happy. Primark being first stop.

Went to card shop for nieces 21st birthday card and was very expensive so came back out, went into different card shop and bought lovely card and 21st mug for price that would have spent on card in first shop.

  • Congrats on the weightloss. Sounds like you are going in the right direction. I too dont know how you fit it all in.
Its great having them all in senior school and when they get more independent, you get back a bit of your life!!
I used to work 7-3 and I am not a morning person! I know start at 10 lol. (still have to get up with the kids etc to make sure they get off to school. Might ask if they will let me have one lie in one day as a treat ;)

Thanks. Really pleased and feeling very motivated still. In fact more so.. A picture of a younger thinner me has kinda of really spurred me.

Its bizarre, on my day off I can hear them scurrying about, getting ready for school, they pop in as leaving to say goodbye, then even lock the door behind them. I tend to get up then anyway, about 8am (they leave before 8). I have had the occasional lie in till 9 which is very nice.

This week Tuesday and Friday off (Friday annual leave as inset day) then half term week off (all of us, including Dave). Nothing special planned, just thought be nice to be off together.

  • Was thinking as I lay in bed, will have been a ward sister for 10 years (bar 2.5 years in the middle seconded to teaching / project work) in October. Can't believe I was a Ward Sister with a 2, 3 and 5 year old, albeit part time, seems bonkers now. Always believed when opportunities come up you have to seize...

Just done a sneaky weigh, as doing at home anyway, was a bit done only lost a 1lb last Wednesday, anyway I'm now 3lb lighter. Bringing in a total of 15lb (slipping over the stone'age!). Marvellous.

  • You were up early on a Sunday morning!

Well done on your career, its very worthwhile. I work in accounts but have always wanted to work for a charity or something more worthwhile or more fulfilling. I dont have family nearby to help out but when the kids are a little bit older I am going to look at going back to college or night school to learn a new 'trade' to make me more happier. I want to work from home and then be able to live wherever I like.

  • No one else was, in fact youngest beat her record and was asleep till dinnertime. It was just me and the cats awake, can't seem to sleep in, have lost the ability.
I'd like to retire at 55 and then perhaps go into doing up properties for a few years, with Dave.

This house was major renovation as well as extension. Spent from the April till November with no kitchen, not even the physical room. Was very challenging and great fun.
Would love to do a church, school, pub type building...
