End of my Vodaphone contract help

Thanks for all the replies
I was hoping Vodaphone would be able to reduce my contract down from £45 to a £20 tariff for 2 or 3 months until I could have a look at the new iPhone and this would of made it easier for me to upgrade but they are unble to do this so I will be cancelling my contract and switching to a 30 day rolling one.
You would think a company the size of Vodaphone would have a way round this to stop them from lossing a customer of 6 years has I will be getting my 30 day contract with someone else because there cheaper than vodaphones
In my opinion, you're asking too much, or maybe expecting too much. They need to make money, after all, and they have suggested a good solution.
You know that iPhone will cost more than £45 a month for a free phone don't you, especially if you're going to be ripped off by insurance.
You also, I presume, know that a new contract for that phone will need to be credit checked, and I think you said you're credit wasn't in great shape?0 -
I have come to the end of my Vodaphone contract which is £45 a month but at this moment in time I don't want to upgrade has there is no phone out that I like so I want to wait to upgrade.
My problem is Vodaphone won't let me reduce my monthly fee unless I sign a new 12 month contract or cancel my excisting contract and goto a monthly rolling one.
My credit rating is not good so I don't want to cancel my contract because I will struggle to get another one so any help or advise would be welcome.
Thanks abhThanks for all the replies

I too think you are asking far too much, you want Vodafone to reduce the cost of your tariff by more than half.
I personally think it would be better for you to move to a sim only contract, either 30 day rolling contract or 12 month. I am not sure if Vodafone allow you to upgrade anytime from a 12 month sim only to a handset contract (I know my provider does). There are some very good deals on the 12 month SIM only contracts too.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0
