Selling my car (no insurance, no tax, battery dead)

So do people think I'd be better off selling it on Auto Trader then?
Also, would it be worth my while buying 6 months of road tax? Otherwise any potential buyers aren't really gonna be able to test drive the vehicle.
EDIT: just realised, the vehicle needs to be insured in order for a tax disc to be issuedso I can't really do that.

You need to make these points in any advert you post. Potential buyers can take out temporary 24 hour insurance for about £20. It would be useful if it had tax.
Take a look on Auto Trader and search for similar cars with similar mileage, this will give you some ideas on how to sell yours.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
Take a look on Auto Trader... there's about 10 pages of them on there for £1k and above similar age/mileage to the OPs.
Thats what people are wanting for them, not what they're selling for.
OP, if you ebay it, with the years MOT and other work done advertised, hopefully able to say no advisories, it'll find it's own level and you wont be back here in a fortnight asking why it's not selling on Autotrader.0 -
I'd say now it's got MOT and is a runner put up a descriptive ad with a lot of pictures. Someone will have that off you for decent money as a first car, with 1 years MOT it's got to be worth £700-£800.
You could try gumtree, but it's scamtastic on both buyer and sellers side and I'd be tempted to avoid it to keep clear of hassle, really.
Ebay it with a reserve of say £600 and I bet you'll sell it for a bit more.0 -
OK I'm gonna take photos this weekend and stick it on eBay. Unfortunately there were 4 advisories that came with the MOT
One was that one of the tyres is worn down quite a bit, and another just says "Oil leak"
Can't remember what the other 2 were off the top of my head.0 -

Wow. That's a 100% mark up on new.0 -

Just make sure you get them to sign a dated and timed receipt.0 -

ok missed that, hmm i have a feeling that the mot center may have fleeced the OP into doing unnecessary repairs.0 -
I just put it on Autotrader last night. Hopefully I will get some phone calls over the next few days, fingers crossed.0

It's been up for 6 days now, only had 2 emails and both have been fraudulent
Think I might need to lower the price..0
