Well, today didn't go the way I intended, but then they never do, do they?
Got 1 load done in WM, but more importantly drove over to Hull and sorted DS's student digs' rent out and picked up his keys, plus dropped off first load of his 'stuff'. Then drove home THROUGH HULL CITY CENTRE :eek: (I don't 'do' city driving - hell I don't like turning right on rural roads :rotfl:) Was proud of myself and hungry so we called at a sizzling pub for lunch/tea and then came home and I flopped...used up all my spoons for today
Am still 'flopped' but recovered enough to open a bottle of white wine - I know the red stuff has more iron in it, but I can't like the taste.
Have drawn up a what's happening on what day this week. Mr T delivering tomorrow = so I can stay at home and flutter.Am also going to pin down DS to register for his 2nd year at Uni course, order course books and buy the Platinum card for Freshers Week + End of Year Ball etc :money:
Hugs to LW and Bossy (((:grouphug:))) ...that just looks sooo wrong somehow!!!
I waved pigpen, but I had DS with me so didn't land at yours for a cuppa. He's renting on Minton St, do you know it? There seemed to be a used car sales business using the road as a workshop today!!!! Plus DS was always a rat when he came home from his dad's as they spoiled him rotten, and he expected me to do the same...ermmm no. Not fair on you or the kiddiwinks

Two bedrooms dusted, hoovered and beds changed. Shower room and bathroom cleaned properly, and one fridge cleaned out. I'm cream-crackered and my back hurts, but it was worthwhile because the chap who moved in tonight says that the place being clean is important. Normally, most men don't seem to notice, so it was just as well I decided that as we have a Californian coming tomorrow, I would give it all a serious blast!
Best news of all is the dog has eaten properly, for the first time in about five days. She's not being fussy, she's fifteen and a half and has to be kept on a really strict diet so she doesn't get an upset tummy and she gets bored with the same food day after day.
So, all round, a good day for me, but reading Fred, not so good for some other people. People who steal phones and handbags are total $hitheads, and deserve all of the bad things that will happen to them as a result of the muck they stick in themselves with the proceeds from their thefts.
BossyMoo - hugs and more hugs. In my experience anxiety and depression are completely different things, but some treatments work for both.Better is good enough.0 -
Evening
Not a great day at work, too many cases coming in, both disciplinaries and grievances so much of the week will be spent in HR but all with the same advisor and she and I have a lot of respect for each other so could be worse.
Just finished dinner so really should start my list, not sure where the 3 hours have gone since I got home
DH had managed to clear the pans that had been soaking and the breakfast washing up but I ran out of time to do a list for him so nothing else got started.
I was just clearing out my bureau and thought i'd pop on here and say hello to you all as it's been ages! DS started high school last week so i'm having a big clear out drawer by drawer, room by room. Slowly does it!
Hope you're all keeping well and happy xxxbonnie_bumpkins wrote: »Evening flybabes
Can I ask for some "toe-rag catching vibes" pls - some lowlife got in back of shop today & stole manager's phone & purse, cleared out her current account within 20 mins, phone has irreplaceable photos of her mother who passed away late last year:mad::mad:
We are sure someone has been watching shop & waited til she was on her own. We are also pretty sure it's someone who knows the shop & rear entrance particularly, as it's difficult to find & no way would you stumble across it. If you hear of some bloke found dangling from his testicles over the river medway you will know i've found him...
Any "phone-finding" vibes and spare hugs for Mrs S would also be very much appreciated. Thank you xxx
Bossymoo - hugs honey. We're here to be strong for you so that you can be strong for your babes xx
Piggers - Yes DS used to be a pain coming back from Ex so I sat him down and explained that although we were both his parents we had different rules in the different houses and he would have to go along with them. Luckily for me he respected that and I had less trouble from him after.
I'm sure there was more I should have remembered, ooh yes Lame Wolf positive vibes for you too, to find someone to cover the round and Iknow there was more but my ageing memory fails me and I need to get on.
Back to report when I've done someMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Level one - check
Level two - check
Level three- not so much!! Brushed kitchen floor!
But also emptied and loaded dishwasher and emptied bin. Oh and did shameful hot spot on top of microwave!!0 -
Thanks for the vibes and kind words :A
Helen the policeman and the forensics guy we had today were both very easy on the eye too
Hugs, sticks & spoons to all in need.
I'm having an early night, sleep tight all xx*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -
Well day one back with flylady has been fairly good, I'm pleased with what I have managed. Also did a few extras - emptied kitchen bin, cleaned WM drawer and put on a maintenance cycle, stripped, washed, ironed, and replaced bedding.
The bathroom could do with a really good clean, so I will try to get on with that tomorrow. I also need to finish off the Monday list - aiming high this week because we have friends staying over this weekend!
Dustykitten - thanks, I handwashed my ironing board cover and it has turned out fine. It doesn't have a label on it so I don't know who the manufacturer is?!
