With your newly washed ironing board cover and descaled iron? :rotfl:

Dustykitten, we won't let you forget this week's tasks in a hurry :D

After my energetic start to the week, there's not much flying going on here today. I've got too many other things to do (there's far more than 15 minutes' paperwork to keep me busy today) and anyway the house generally stays quite clean and tidy with just the two of us, no children, no visitors this week, no pets, no mice deposited on the kitchen floor...

After 3 years together, DH is finally beginning to take a pride in the house as well as the garden: he is now a whizz with the new lawnmower, stripes and all, and yesterday he said, "I'm getting quite good at keeping things tidy, aren't I?" That is a seismic change, considering what his old house looked like after 12 years on his own. I think he's realised that I am much happier with some order in my life, and that therefore he will be happier too. It's also a sign that his mental state is improving. :A

Next week we're having new banisters and handrail to replace the old 70s ranch-style boards and then decorating the whole of the hall, stairs and landing plus every door in the house (they have only ever had primer on them since the previous owners of this house changed the doors about 5 years ago) so I have another good reason not to bother about the housework this week! I have S&S'd the kitchen and cleaned the bathroom this morning, and I promise to do a HHI at lunchtime - I descaled the iron yesterday too. :)

:coffee: has been decluttered so back to paperwork now. I also need to make up a shortlist of paint colours.

Hello, I think my house is crying out for me to join this thread, if you'll have me? I'd like to make my house a home again, somewhere my DH can come home at the end of a stressful day and find it a haven.

Last year was spent mainly being ill, but now my medications have been sorted out I am feeling able to start a routine, so here we go!

I've made a start today with wiping down kitchen worktops and cupboard fronts. DW is on, and I need to put a load in the WM.

HHC is to tackle the paper mountain and get the shredder working. I have done one lot already, so need to go and do another shortly. (This is going to be a long job!)

I suppose I should go and make a start on the paper...

I draw the line at descaling the iron at work to enable me to iron the covers:rotfl:
