lemontart we also bought this in a hurry when the Nokia broke.
Its still under 6 months since purchase, get Tesco to fix it or demand a replacement (preferably a different make/model). I think under sale of goods act you are entitled to demand a replacement within first 6 months of purchase.
Don't just swap phones with your daughter and keep it (down the line it might get other problems) - if you do not want to deal with Tesco, go direct to Samsung - its under warranty, email Samsung via their repair site.0 -
So sorry to hear you are having problems as well crystalwings, we are lucky bought the phone on tesco double up vouchers so actually didn`t cost us hard cash, and we run it on a £7.50 sim card deal with Tesco.
I must admit I have lost faith in Tesco, and would also never buy another Samsung product.
Tesco won`t budge with a replacement if the item is over a month old and they insist on upto 3 repairs for faulty phones, this is what was told to us. A 15 year old can`t do without a phone for 30 mins never mind over 14 days. I know its defetive but think we might just cut our losses. However she is going to try the reset when she gets in from school...so fingers crossed it may work.
Its her her birthday is in November so we will begin the hunt for something decent. Will email Samsung with the problem and see what they say.0 -
Hi,
I just wanted to add that last week I sent my daughter's Samsung Chat back to Tesco repair centre as it would not charge up. I am currently waiting to find out what they say. We have had the phone since 5 July so I'm wondering exactly what my rights are in respect of this, if anyone can help please?
We are on a 24 month contract paying 7.50 a month.
Thanks0 -
You are wrong....I think under sale of goods act you are entitled to demand a replacement within first 6 months of purchase.
Tesco have to repair or replace (their choice) unless it is damaged: Consumer Rights Armour...We have had the phone since 5 July so I'm wondering exactly what my rights are in respect of this, if anyone can help please?
