Tesco Job Application Form

Hi everyone. I'm quite new to this forum but have found it to be excellent. Thanks to everyone for comments.
With ref to the tesco application form...I too have one and have pondered a little to long on the answers. As one wise chappie said earlier...getting the answers right isn't what its about at all. Everyone is unique and we all have strengths and less strong areas. I'm very much a leader but in interview setting I turn into a nervous wreck. Be yourself and remember the initial recruitment spec.....
Applicants must be good team players and be able to demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
good luck in whatever job you decide is right for you.

I did a psychometric test for a job in HR once and it said I was 'slow, unresponsive and suited to a sedentary position'. The HR manager, who I had known for some years - as I already worked for the company - laughed out loud at the description. I am definitely none of the above. Just shows you those tests are rubbish sometimes!0

you would be better off starting a new thread for your question0 -
Hi,
I am too in this situation applying for work having finished universoty last year but still struggling. I and have been doing lots of research. it appears that occupatinal psychologists who work for comapnies like SHL make these assessments for organisations to use. From your post, it appears they are asking your daughter to choose from one of equally attractive choices - the best advice often is to be honest as they will probably ask you this again. The other option is to imagine yourself in that job eg if it is a sales role or customer facing job, then you have to be friendly, etc.
Also can somebody advise me of how to start a new thread (i know this sounds silly) but i still havent been able to figure this out lol.

Went for a driver/delivery job at Tesco. Passed the fill in the dots thing and the interview was just a 5-10 min chat. Then had to do the driver test a couple of days later. This I failed. Not as easy as made out at the interview. Not great if you haven't driven for ages. You get three chances to get it right. If successfull then you go on the road for more testing. Then I assume you are offered a job if that is all good. Like I say I messed up on the reversing through cones. Obviously no rear view mirror so wing mirrors are your eyes as it were. Nearly got it first time but cocked up my positioning. It went to pieces after that. You are not allowed to move forward at any time during the reversing test to correct yourself.0

Hi, my daughter has an application form to complete for job in Tesco's. Is there anyone that could give advice on how to answer the Questionnaire (Screening) on the back pages ie. Question 1,
I am the sort of person who....
A) Gives support to other peopleNegotiates with others
C) Is able to problem solve
D) Speaks clearly
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
This sort of !!!! should be made illegal for being unbelievably stupid. And for a job in Tesco as well. !!!!!!. What an absolute load of !!!!. So if your best qualities are being excellent at negotiating and problem solving the dumb HR monkeys will think you're saying you mumble to yourself and don't bother helping people. Absolute !!!!!!!!.
I've done one of these phsychological assessments before and the report it came out with was the biggest load of laughable !!!!!!!! I'd ever seen. It said stuff like 'xxx doesn't like being touched'. 'Always thank him for his time'. The retards who invent these tests have too much time on their hands. And the failure lower management types who think they are super amazing really need a slap.0
