they have a grid to help them work out wether to employ somenoe based on these questions .

MY big tip is to look at all the questions as one rather than each one individually

My son filled out one of these application forms last year. Got called to an interview with about 20 other people - group interview. After question/answering session they then split up into small groups and done an hours work on the shop floor - pulling forward the shampoo's and hair stuff is what my son did that day.

He didn't get the job or payment for that hours work. Bit cheeky of tesco's I think to get a load in for interviews and get the shop floor tidied up for free!

    Just for info.

OMG if I had to pull forward shampoo, I'd be there all day making sure they were all lined up perfectly. Once I tried to do it to the cereal on the top shelf, there was spaces in between most of them but I couldn't reach. :rotfl:

Now, as a 'manager' at Tesco, you will be aware that the rates of pay, for drivers, are significantly higher than those paid by ASDA.

How much to Tesco pay their drivers? Do you need a special licence, or is a standard car licence sufficient?

They pay £7.42 an hour - They, as ASDA, use 3.5 tonne Mercedes Box vans, which can be driven on a normal car licence (most, but not all are automatic and, once you are used to the extra width and length, are quite easy/pleasant to drive).
I understand that you may need to have held your full licence for at least a year (probably for insurance purposes) and that you should have no more than six penalty points. I can not be held responsible for the legal accuracy of that, but that is what Tesco told me when I applied.

That's pretty good. Which store(s) is/are hiring, do you know?

No - sorry. That's why I'm still working at ASDA for £1.40 an hour less. :rotfl: :rotfl:
I think you just need to keep asking your local store(s).

  • Worth noting that Sains do the same thing, however you have to be 23 (insurance) and its not just driving, its a case of loading the van with the shopping and its a customer service role, as effectively you are the face of the store / company.
  • Thanks for the first few answers could do with the rest as well but have taken my best guess.
Do they use difrent cards for difrent jobs then?

I don't think so, tlk. Probably best just to fill it in as 'honestly' as possible.

    Good luck.

  • Hi, just resurrecting this old thread as a friend and my daughter have just been turned down by Tesco (they're opening a new one in town) after failing the template test.
My daughter has qualifications for looking after children, but as she wants to works evenings(because she now has children of her own) she put that she wanted to work on stock replenishment (shelf stacking)
Seems like you need a law degree to fill the shelves now.
    Does anyone have the template?
And did the OP's daughter get her job? lol
Don't push me cos i'm close to the edge!

Anything posted on here by me is my opinion and my opinion only.......... allegedly lol ;)
