Has anyone managed to successfully set up a Santander dd for the new Lloyds Club account yet? I sent off my dd to S'der a week ago and still nothing showing on the "pull money in from an external account" tab yet.

No nothing and I sent mine off a couple weeks ago.

Typical Santander, I've never had a positive experience with them yet (apart from the 3% interest) and even then they delay their payments from the account by a day when most others send theirs immediately.

No luck yet and did it around the same time. Have set up a British Gas one in the interim on the assumption that Santander one won't work but keep on looking.

They did confirm to me by secure message a couple of weeks' ago that they do still permit DD's on the esaver, so I can only assume it's either their incompetence or excess work load - or both.

    The long haul....

Finally got a letter from Santander today.

"Unfortunately I am unable to action your request at this time.. Please provide us with a recent Lloyds TSB bank statement dated with the last 3 months.

Please return the enclosed to us in the prepaid envelope provided.

    ... Or else ring them on 08459 724724 ...."

So won't yet have a statement from the Club Lloyds anyway, so am wondering whether any other Lloyds Vantage accounts would suffice, or really do I have to crawl through their 0845 etc etc.

Anyone else got a similar letter today?

Not had a letter, but I sent a secure message a couple of days ago and they replied today telling me that they can confirm the Funding Mandate has not been set up. Bright aren't they?!! Yes, I know it hasn't been set up, I can see that for myself. They've suggested I send another Funding Mandate to them. They're a blo*dy joke. Just confirms that I'd never never never never use Santander as my main current account. Couldn't organise a pis* up in a brewery!

I'd have a thought a screenshot of your Club Lloyds account should suffice, showing Club Lloyds account no., sort code, etc.

I'm certain a statement from one of your other Lloyds Vantages will not.

I set up mine and OH's qualifying DDs for the Lloyds Club account to our respective Tesco Internet Saver accounts, and then for the 2nd qualifying DD from my Lloyds to OH Tesco and one from OH Lloyds to my Tesco (I know they said the DD should come from an account in the same name, but having sent off the Santander DD's that never materialised, I went ahead anyway). They're showing, but I haven't had any written confirmation yet. My question is, when I click on the OH Lloyds DD account when logged into my Tesco account (which I'd set up as monthly, but from May so it'd be on the same day as my other Tesco one), it offers me the option of regular or one off. I want to request a payment by DD now to get one in for April, but if I choose one off, will it override the regular monthly option I'd already set up?
  • If it does, could you not just recreate the regular payment after the one off has been taken?

I could, but I wouldn't know if I needed to do that until (and if) the next regular payment didn't come out as planned in May. And if I did the one off and then re-set up the regular payment after, I might be duplicating it (if you see what I mean).
