At last read 2 chpts from my book for uni. Starting to have some threads now for the dissertation to pull together later on. Very early stages.
Starting to get back on track with study after the summer break. Will do some more tomorrow to take notes from the chpts and find some more referencesfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Spends today £40.02 on petrol and managed to not go into the bargain shop or spend in Mr T either at lunch time
Tomorrow will set myself a budget of £2 to spend on any bargains around and only if they truly are otherwise no spend day
Just about to start some reading some more uni work with a well deserved hot chocolatefinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Todays spends are £3.59 comprising of 10p suntan lotion to go in mum's travel hamper; 50p facial wash to go in brother's hamper; 18p toothpaste to go on holiday; 10p body moisturiser to go in mum's travel hamper, 10p body spray for me and 47p hair leave in conditioner spray; 49p face moisturiser (works out at 10ml extra for £1.99 less) and 49p body moisturiser for holiday
£2.89 on me
50p on brother!
20p on mum!
That was it! Took work friends in who nearly fell over in shock at the low prices - will be competing for bargains over the next few weeks! A good way to cheer up a miserable lunchtime who can get the most for less.
Tomorrow will be a NSD and I'm just writing my shopping list for the weekend while meal planningto use up some stuff from the freezer over the next week and including some more autumnal meals
Found a nice recipe to stretch out mince to take on holiday for an easy tea when we get there, then a nice cheap and low fat tikka recipe and spicy quorn and cous cous recipe to try outfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Forgot to mention - felt well ropey today like I'm fighting a cold off - not now please! And I did read for uni last night and I'm about to tackle another chapter shortly
Talking of using things up out of the cupboards and freezer - this weekend will make some damson jam to use up the frozen damsons from last year and have go a rosehip syrup too. Then just some marmalade to go to use up the last of the frozen sevilles. Blimey once I've done all this there's only some frozen egg whites and banana's to go and I'll get some space back!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Well just about to log off and start a 2hr reading session for uni work after I've hung the washing out
Then its out with the dog for an hour, come back and clean the bathroom and then tea. Have written shopping list for tomorrow to go after work
Still feeling a bit ropey at times so looking forward to a lie in at the weekend and having a day of pottering around before a rare night out. Will be making some damson jam for certain on that day and hopefully starting the rosehip syrup to finish off on Sunday
So far has been a NSD 2 and as I'm planning on not visiting any shops thats a good bit of progress this week. I've been good filling in my spending diary this week too and will be continuing over the next few weeks to monitor what I spend on, I've not managed to carry this on when I've done it before however I do feel a sense of determination and focus I've not felt before.
The night out on Sat will be a low spend affair as I'm driving and planning on staying a couple of hours with 2 or 3 soft drinks, one of which will be in a cheap pub too! I'm also sticking to wearing what I own and not buying anything new. Had a chat at work about it today and me and a friend decided to wear something relatively summery as it may be the last chance we before the tights come out!
So far thinking my unworn white cropped jeans and a night top and shoes. I would like to wear my jeans at least once this year before the winter arrives - so far the weather looks ok too!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi fedupandskint :hello:
Well done on your NSDs- I am going to have to make a commitment to myself to aim for some NSDs next week. My spending has been much better this month but could be better
Well done on sticking to your resolution to not buy new for the weekend. I have a wedding to go to on Sat but have managed a new outfit for £24!0 -
Ok found an outfit to wear on Sat - white cropped jeans, navy ruffle top and purple jacket - 2 out of 3 items were sale bargains and although the jeans weren't they were worth it as they fit perfectly (thankfully!). Also liberated a pair of shoes bought in the sale for £10 a couple of years ago and although I liked them I couldn't imagine wearing them. So its about time they got worn too! A high heel brown and navy trim t-bar shoe with a much needed very comfy padded sole!
Pleased with the outfit and ready to go - just need a good weather day otherwise its my £10 bargain dress, tights and shoe boots.
No need to buy anything new at all and have plenty of make up to play with too so no need for anything new there either. Will set a budget of £15 for the night out and expect to bring home some change out of that too!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Woo hoo! Its the weekend!
Thank goodness and looking forward to pleasing myself of course!
I have rosehip syrup on the go to finish off tomorrow morning and bottle up and made a rather delish tea of tandoori chicken from scratch with leftovers for the weekend. What else to report - have been good and filled in the spending diary this week with only one more day to go as Sunday should prob be a NSD.
Planning jam making on Sunday along with some studying too on Sunday and lots of ironing as tomorrow will have a lot of washing and drying after I did the summer and aurumn winter clothes swap around earlier discarding some way too large items from last year now into the pile to sell or chuck.
Might do a little bit of garden tidying up tomorrow too along with housework and then soend some time fabbing myself up for my night out including my nails which will need it after the garden!
If I feel better tomorrow I'll do another day of RI30 and then finish it off on Sunday after taking this week off to get over this cold/virus thing thats doing the rounds.
Sshhh.....found an interesting job to apply for - will have to do some work on it over the next week but think I'll give it a go regardless of whether I think I stand a chance after all it doesn't hurt to apply for something new and different. That's the thing that needs confidence and belief from me that I can do itfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
A good start to the day - dog walked on his longer weekend walk, rosehip syrup made and bottled up from the WW2 recipe in my book. Let me see if it works, should make a nice drink all the same, Thinking of making some more to give a bottle away to my family for over winter. Jam making tomorrow to use up those damsons out of the freezer then thats jam done for this year unless I come across some bargain greengages or plums over the next week.
Cost of rosehip syrup - 600ml made with free rosehips and 350g sugar - lets call that around 40p working out at 20p per bottle. Now that's what I call a bargain!
A reminder from above - how am I getting on?- Work out a repayment plan - still to do
- Contact the CC companies to ask them to lower the APR and possibilities of a BT - no chance at the moment, doesn't hurt to ask
- Rejoin NSD challenge - a bit half hearted attempt this week
- Set monthly and weekly budget for food shopping - done and ongoing
- Write a shopping list for each week and stick to it - done and ongoing
- Eat the food I have in the cupboards and freezer - ongoing
- Write a list of things I don't need at all and keep it handy to remind me - done
- Don't buy any clothes or shoes at all for the rest of Sept and all of October - ongoing - going ok so far
- Remember I don't need any skincare, haircare or make up until I have run out - ongoing!
- Continue low cost exercise - its worked to get me here and remember I did it without joining a gym and paying for that
- ongoing!
What else, loads of washing out attempting to dry, next its time to do a bit of housework and catch up on this - LR and BR next and hooverfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Very pleased to have finished the cleaning early this morning with only a bit of tidy up gardening to do later and a lot of ironing to do tomorrow
