I am concentrating upon feeling better today! I am fedup of feeling like this.

Have sorted out, recycled, piled ready for shredding and FILED AWAY 3 years worth of paperwork. Really pleased I have done this and am ontop of all paperwork all tidied away into folders. A point from this was sorting through old receipts and seeing how much money I wasted upon things 3yrs ago when I was at my absolute lowest point. It made me feel embarrassed and ashamed of how I used to behave with money. The corner has been turned in regard to this as I attempt to look after every penny these days.

It opened my eyes to this, no more sticking head in the sand where money and debts are concerned and all on top of things now heading forwards and a lot happier I've faced up to things at long last.

Now that's made me feel a lot better writing all that down here!

Also today is NSD 5/15 - getting there!

I feel better - at last! Yipee!! Rang work to arrange going in next week on reduced hours and arranged to see mum tomorrow to see how I get on and that will give me a good indication of how well I am overall. Feeling a bit like a pincushion after blood tests as the nurses struggled a bit to get a vein! Anyway a comprehensive list of blood tests done and if all is ok then great stuff and nice to know that too

An ebay collection finally made ready for the next lot ending at the weekend

Really good to feel better at long last and looking forward to a coffee out with mum tomorrow for the first time in a long time!

Thinking I would like to start to crochet a blanket at some point over the next few weeks using up some of the wool stored away unused. No idea where to start, think I'll have a look on youtube to start with

Went over to meet mum today for a coffee and some lunch and after less than an hour of a slow walk around a couple of shops and a coffee started to feel very worse for wear. Shows me I am no where near back to normal yet and really need to continue to take it easy for a couple of weeks still.

Anyway, happily we had a nice look around the shops and I spent the last bit of my birthday money on a pair of low brown leather boots after not being able to make my mind up between the low chelsea boots style or slightly higher version. Plumped for the higher chelsea boot style in the end as these will be more practical although I'm still hankering after the low ones because they were comfier than a pair of slippers!

Mum bought herself some lovely bootleg slim cords in a gorgeous burgandy colour which looked great on - nice one mum!

Took the christmas present clothes over for mum to try on and if she liked them or not. Holiday trousers went down well and fitted nicely as did 2 of the tops which were a bargain and the other one she wasn't too keen on which is fine and can go back for a refund. Total price for 2 pairs of trousers and 2 tops £26.40 - cost of one top full price £29.50!

So a bit of a spendy day - filled up with petrol, bought coffee, put £4 towards the boots. £13 on food shopping for next week and a birthday meal for a friend on Sunday and £11 on dog food to last the next 4mths or so. Not as bad as I thought overall.

Tomorrow's plan is to bake some christmas cakes and take back the clothes for a refund and shove the hoover around to tidy up a bit and that's about it!

Had another play around with the snowball calculator and have worked out if I can throw £300 at each cc I can reduce the debt free date by another 3mths to August from Jan 2015 original date before the repayments in earnest began.

The ebaying continues in order to do this, have just sorted out some unopened make up and brushes out to go on there when the next free listing weekend arrives along with a couple of handbags, a coat, a piece of furniture and some cheapish jewellery and maybe some more clothes and shoes - lets see what can sell on there!

Have baked the christmas cakes today and instead of baking 2 massive ones have made one mix and split into 2 loaf cakes and 2 mini tiny ones which is much better for all our waistlines this year, after all don't want to be squeezing out of those clothes I've bought this year!

Tomorrow is finish off cleaning, get the bits I forgot for the birthday tea, sweep up leaves from outside and bake a birthday cake.

Still feeling very tired after doing something like a walk or bit of cleaning so not too sure how work will be next week. Better see how I am tomorrow and reassess then.

Well its a bit of tv watching and then a dvd while pampering my nails after the flu and virus has left them in a dreadful state along with my skin - better pop a facemask on tomorrow to try and sort it out!

  • Just checked ebay and have 10 items now which will sell - great! Very happy about this as its all going towards the credit cards next weekend if the car goes through its MOT ok.

Have swept up half the leaves outside, looks tidier and the recycling bin is more or less full now and decided to leave the rest until another time as could feel it after a while. Certainly continuing to feel better though which is good.

Time to bake the cake - apple sponge - Autumnal birthday cake otherwise I'll sit here all morning on the lappy!

  • The plan to go back to work this week didn't work out as intended. As I felt quite under the weather still this weekend and got up early to give myself plenty of time to get ready I felt pretty rubbish. Thought to myself it would be better to give myself longer to get over this and then return rather than go back too soon and then have to take more time off - decision made to not return this week and work agreed with me luckily. Will need another dr appt this week later on.

Had a very successful ebay day yesterday with 16 items selling and 12 remaining unsold to try again on next free listing weekend. Once the car has its MOT and service on Friday what is left is going towards the cc repayments to bring that DFD closer than it is now and the amounts down some more. Sorted some more stuff out on Sat to list on there next time too. Will be posting tomorrow and hopefully all will have paid up by then for the marathon posting session

Today's jobs while I sit here recovering is booking the chest x-ray and finding out about a flu jab as there is no way I want another bout of this later on in the year after this particular episode

NSD update - 9/15 now after today and the weekend as the low spends came out of grocery budget and a £3 spend on ebay postage materials in the poundshop which are paid for by buyers postage costs

Today's mantra to remember for the weeks ahead
On the journey to make my money my own and mine only
Trying very hard to remember this at all times and not be tempted by grabbits, sales or spending anything on the credit cards I am working hard to pay off.

Snowballed £30 onto credit cards yesterday as per the plan of snowballing £60 halfway there now.

Posted 12 ebay parcels this morning off to their new homes

Bought 2 pieces of equipment for soap making coming in at grand total of £2.35 and will get the rest over the next couple of weeks not much left to get as have most things already and then its off to try out a first batch!

As part of the plan to make myself feel better I'm off out on a longer walk with Mr Dog this afternoon to get some much needed fresh air and exercise and take advantage of a milder dry day while I'm off

Have you made soap before?? I'm pretty interested in having a try, but it's one of those things I have on a list that never gets done. I have a 'recipe' telling me how to make it and everything, just always leave it til tomorrow!! Good stuff on the snowballing!
