On checking my bank account today - I feel that someone should prevent these shysters from "fining" CUSTOMERS for failing to provide info within 7 days

I have been "fined" almost £75 by this company - for failing to provide proof of NCD within their tight 7 day period.....

The story is complex - I took out ONE CALL insurance (purely on cost) - to start on 1 Sept - without reading all the small print first - the small print said that I had 7 days to provide NCD proof - this, I needed from my previous but one insurer - which I then emailed to my last insurer - who kindly "rounded it up" - but since this took over 7 days (I finally emailed onecall with the certificate on 07 Sept) - the same day as they took £75 from my bank account - I have another 7 days (14 days total) to reclaim this money - so have requested a refund within the next 7 days or I will bring in the regulator (FSA ?).....

Do not reply to the pm.

It could be a scammer trying to steal your details.

Please do not email the poster your personal details, you do not know who they are. Representatives from companies have to be vetted and approved by MSE to ensure they are who they say they are and that they have permission from the company to represent them.

This poster has not done this so could potentially be anyone

I have PM'd you my policy number and date that I took out the policy on - that should be sufficient for you to investigate ...
and if you are not who you claim to be - will not do me any harm......
If not - it will be the regulator !!

If this firm really want to contact you they could do so from the info you have given them already.

Beware responding. They are breaking mse rules.

We have contacted the MSE forum team with regards to registering as official representatives for our company, I'm sure you understand how busy they are so we are currently awaiting their approval.

I have tracked your details on our system and one of our complaints handling staff has called (number beginning 075) but had no response and no option to leave a voicemail. They have emailed you to ask to call us back whenever is convenient.

I asked for confirmation of your details so I could ensure I was dealing with the correct policy before proceeding.

Our working hours are 9am till 5.30pm, if we do not hear from you today please let me know when would be a convenient time to call you tomorrow.

    Thanks.

    One Call Insurance.

Right - I have emailed you and expect a reply by end of today
As I have said - I followed your "rules" by providing proof of NCD within the tight 7 day period - yet, you STILL took another £74.28 from my bank account - the following day
This is nothing but theft and I demand my money back - with an explanation.....
  • Hi

One call has asked to provide a response. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the forum.

We have looked into the forum members complaint, it appears there has been some confusion regarding previous years NCD held, and how this has transferred to ourselves.

We have rectified the matter and issued a refund for the additional charge of £74.28, please be aware that this refund may take 3-5 working days to clear into their account.

I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this matter may have caused.

    Thanks

    One Call Insurance

Thanks - Yes, I was sent that email this morning
I will let you know when the payment arrives in my bank account
What concerns me is the ease that this company withdrew funds from my account - surely there should be some way of preventing this from happening ?
Plus they withdrew the money a day AFTER I emailed them proof of my NCD !!
I also see that all of the posts made by them have been removed....
  • Dont give them your bank account details.

Thats about as much as you can do.
