If you collect BMI Destination miles with MBNA, Avios with LloydsTSB, or BA Avios with Am Ex. If you have a BA Avios account you are able to move Avios, and BMI Destination miles into BA Avios. Also you can tranfer BA Avios to avios.. So there is a little more flexibility.
  • OP you might also wish to take a look at flyertalk.com on the subject of frequent flyer programmes generally. (And there is some discussion of CCs too.)

    All good knowledge, thanks.
  • BMI is, of course, being dissolved into BA. I burnt most of my Diamond Club miles a few weeks ago.

BMI Amex gives 1.5 for every £ spent. It's better than VISA. Anyway, you get them both when you apply.

Amex Gold Rewards, very good for miles, first year free. Yo can get 20K miles when you spend £2000 in first three months. Double miles for supermarket, fuel, travel spend. Also Gold Amex was awarding me triple miles for travel, some error in their system.

BMI Amex - 20K miles if you spend £500 in first free months and points are awared with first statement after spending total of £500.

So I guess it would be good to apply for BMI Amex to get 20K miles and then for Gold Rewards if you are able to spend £2000 in 3 months.
  • Absolutely no idea about the best points cards whatsoever but just to let you know (others will tell you/me if it's a rubbish return) but the Lloyds Duo Avois awards a) 1pt per £1 spend on the AMEX or b) 1pt per £5 spend on the Mastercard.

Probably not that great now I think of it!
