Yes definitely! I did take my stitching with me but sadly didn't manage any during my lunch break but I hope now to make use of my lunch breaks and stitch (rather than surf the web)- want to start crafting for the autumn charity coffee morning although I think it might be more like the xmas coffee morning !Hi ladies.
Hope you all had a nice easter.
Hubby has been home for 4 days so we have been out & about or busy catching up on jobs at home. I have been reading the thread in the evenings on my tablet and it's not great for replying so I'm going to do a catch up post now
Same for me here with hubby home over easter. Roll on the weekend when I think he might be heading out and I can settle on the sofa with my stitching :j0 -
thank you maria ohh yes - thats why I don't do popcorn, tatty teddy or any of those........and if I ever do take a funny turn please remind me why I hate them.
uh oh - i've found a new (?) bothy kit I like.........
I never iron ANYTHING!!!!!!!
I would rather re-wash and tumble dry jeans then iron them.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Maria - I keep having to unpick my turtle, for some reason I can't get it right. Managed to stitch nearly all of one flipper in grey rather than blue yesterday and ended up spending longer unpicking it than I did stitching it in the first place. Felt like slinging it. You know when you just want to finish something and get it out of the way, well that's the stage I'm at with the turtle. I can't stand the site of it but want it finished so I can use the frame I've got it on.
Not sure if I've mentioned it but I took a bit of a gamble of a almost completed Leopard cross stitch from ebay. Well it arrived and has about 500 stitches left to do plus the back stitch but it's stitched really well and for the £6.49 which I paid (including postage) I'm really pleased with it. Will try to post a photo of it and then updates as I do it.
With the Turtle, this Leopard and the Panthers mouth (which I'm yet to start) I think that will be the end of pictures for my sons room.
Chicky - hope your head feels a bit better, I had a had head earlier but luckily I managed a few hours sleep and feel okay now. Still felt a bit groggy when I woke but my son suggested a walk and after being out for a couple of hours I was fine.
I watched the Sewing Bee, decided I can as good as them so it's inspired me to make myself a skirt once my new sewing machine arrives, hopefully tomorrow.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Now not sure how much I love the chocolate one (not got it yet). the little pictures look tacky
Plus I rarly do anything 'just for me' as I never have anything on display.
I could make some working copies of the small ones and do them I spose - I did like them lots.
my mum finalllllyyy got her "IF" last week lol. she loved it and was even more pleased that I'd remembered it was her favourite poem.
Oooh, I like that chart too. Thanks. May well treat myself to that one.
That kit made me laugh. I never iron anything either (except my stitching when framing it). Clothes come out of the machine & get hung up wet, so the creases drop out. Got lots of other things I'd rather do with my time. Can't understand people who iron things like bedding, towels (!), underwear and PJ's! Why??? :rotfl:Maria - I keep having to unpick my turtle, for some reason I can't get it right. Sounds like you got a great buy. Look forward to seeing a photo.
I remember stitching with a friend years ago and she was stitching Eeyore. She unpicked the same area three times as she kept going wrong! Sometimes it's better to put aside for a night and pour a glass of wine/ cup of tea instead.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Sorry flowers some how I missed your post earlier, I love the idea of an 3 appature frame to put them in, just building myself up to buy them, some of you may remember what I'm like with spending money on myself!!!
Alisb, I really feel for you this pattern is driving me mad it's not like it's even complicated!!
Chicky I also avoid tatty and the gang, it's also the reason I now avoid flower fairies after driving myself mad with one when I first got back into cross stitch, I love that pattern although I do iron alot ,even though I hate it unlike my mum aka craftycrafty who actually likes it !!!! Crazy lady!
Flowers my grandad used to iron tea towels!!

Love that kit, mustn't buy for now as far too many projects on the to do list. Well I'm post 4999 who's going to be lucky 5000!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Flowers - my Mum used to iron everything, pants, socks, t-towels, bed linen etc. Then I introduced her to cross stitch and card making and she stopped ironing everything except her stitching.
Chicky - I agree what's the point!!
Have sorted through some of my magazines today with the intention of getting rid of them but all I've ended up doing is adding to my "to do" list.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j
