    Hi ladies.

Hope you all had a nice easter.

Hubby has been home for 4 days so we have been out & about or busy catching up on jobs at home. I have been reading the thread in the evenings on my tablet and it's not great for replying so I'm going to do a catch up post now :D

Soulie. Glad chemo is getting easier for you and I hope the cold get's better real soon.

    moments. Nice update.

    Natzini. Welcome!

Beg. Look forward to seeing an update on Sleeping Beauty. Congrats on 35 years!

Sweetcarer. Love purple work and look forward to seeing them framed.

Ruth. Your new living room sounds fab!

Maria. Sorry to read of your wasted evening, how frustrating!

    As for me.
I loosely backstitched around the star last week and the result was ok so no unpicking :T
Didn't get much stitching time over the long weekend as hubby was here but I got some stitching in yesterday, not much but every stitch helps right? :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Hi All,

not been on here for a while, hope your all well, I need to check back through the posts at some point, but I'm moving house so all my time is taken up with that.

I am very excited though as in my new place we are allowed to put pictures on the walls! So all my kits can finally be mounted and displayed. The OH isn't too impressed but if he's displaying his photography then i'm displaying my cross stitch.

So that brings me on to my visit today. How do I mount my kits in a frame and where do you buy your supplies?

    Hello!

I'm new to this thread! Hi!

I love to cross stitch - my Nan taught me when I was little and I have been super interested since. For a while I wasn't interested in some of the patterns as I didn't feel as though they weren't suitable for me, but now there are some great magazines and awesome downloadable patterns so I'm back to being into it again.

I've not currently got anything on the go, but need to as I have some birthdays coming up and very little budget!

    Nice to meet you all!

Hi and welcome. Love your avatar and can't wait to hear more about what you plan to stitch

Love your purple work, sweetcarer. :)
I've been hanging my stitching in our lovely newly decorated living room this weekend. So far our 'reading nook' is mainly cricket themed, so there's a stitched cricket bear, plus some boring prints of old cricket players, then I've added a couple of small prints of Tower Bridge and Regents Park (bought in Covent Garden market & forgot we had them!). On the fireplace wall is the WTP wedding sampler and I'll probably add some small stitched pic on the mantelpiece. The other 'nook' has a big new storage unit in it, my LK 'A Good Marriage' hanging above it and (once I've ironed and reframed it) a blackwork dragon above that. My Pocket Dragon collection is either side of those, so it kind of goes.
Above the sofa is my Titanic, another wedding sampler and-once its washed-the wall hanging that my friends made us for our wedding. On the last wall is the Flowers Of The Year I stitched for my grandparents in 1996. Also planning to hang the Labyrinth pixel people there when it's done. Still space for some more stitching. Just need the time to do them & the money to frame them! I'll have to post photos when the rest is up. How many stitched things are in the room you're in now? And did you do them or were they gifts?

Great question. I'm in our bedrooom (have been working from home and just having a tea break). I counted 36 stitched items, mainly framed pictures but there are also a couple of paperweights and a trinket box with a lovely cross stitched design of a glass slipper on a cushion which was a gift as part of a stitching exchange years ago. It came as a card but I mounted it in the trinket box which holds earrings. There is a small fabric collage/embroidery picture which I bought from a craft fair years ago and a couple of small pieces which I bought from charity shops (I like to think of it as giving them a good home :D) and an embroidered tray cloth which was passed to me by an aunt. Other than that the pieces are my work - going back more than 30 years
