  • Thanks flowers if Scotland. I think it is my new favourite. just one question though all the charts give linen and evenweave measurements but don't say (unless I'm missing something) if it is over 2 or 1 do I just assume it is over 2, there are loads I want to do but just wanted to check. thanks

Charts usually assume that evenweave/linen will be stitched over 2 threads so that 28 count is the equivalent of 14 count aida, 32 count the equivalent of 16 count aida etc. Where stitching over 1 is required this will normally be specifically stated. Some designers like to use over 1 stitching for faces for example.

The best advice I was ever given about stitching on evenweave is to make sure that you start stitching with the embroidery thread leaning against an upright thread of the fabric - easier to see than explain - linky

There are probably video tutorials available as well.

I also wanted to share with you what I stitched from one of the charts you generously sent to me a while ago. The chart has 2 baby birds and I stitched one on a leftover piece of pale lilac evenweave and then mounted it into a coaster. I would like to stitch the other little bird and am on the look out for a small off cut of fabric in my stash. I am very frugal with fabric and hate to cut into a large piece when i only need something small :money:

So thank you for the chart :T- all the others are on my to do list as well but it's a very long list

    Morning ladies :)

Louise. Lovely christmas stitch, very sweet.

Firefly. Love the Joyful Snowmen, such lovely bright colours.

Chicky. Not been to the London m&m shop but looking at the pictures in the link it looks very similar to the shop in New York Times Square.
It's just a huge shop full of overpriced m&m's.

BEG. Pooh is lovely, I'm sure they will love it.

    FOS. Cute baby bird!

As for me. Got the tinkle wording finished yesterday, just the lines running down the wall behind the loo to do now. Not decided if it's having a border yet, still need to see how it looks in the frame as it is.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

However, seem to have more energy at mo so without jinxing it, M.E/CFS poss in period of remission. can only hope. Also Malvern are looking for volunteers for archaelogical dig in next few weeks - that I would love to try.

Subtle Minx - I also suffer with ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia. Have you tried the Vegepa capsules - they're supposed to help with energy levels and keep you in remission. I've just started them so i'm hoping like mad that they work!!!

OK, I'm supposed to be doing Admin at the moment but I think I can give myself an hour off for some stitching and the news. Found a site to do a chart of the cat which DOESN'T make all her white fur green!!!
