Maria-yes, I feel a bit better now, thanks. I know that everyone has down days every now & then, but it's annoying when people ask you what's wrong & you just don't know. It's like having a grey cloud above your head.

Welcome to our new members! :) Nice to have you here. Please feel free to share all your pics. We love a photo!

I use the R&R plastic frame. I used to use hoops, but these frames are even better for keeping tension on the fabric. Speaking of hoops, I have a small bag full & I've lost them! I was going to use a coloured flexihoop to frame my mum's forever friends design (it's nearly finished!) as its sort of circular & thought it would work well. Hopefully the bag will turn up in the next few weeks. I wish my house wasn't so chaotic...:o

  • Nice framing JCS1.

I still have two large pieces that need to be framed but haven't found suitable frames to put them in.

For stitching I have a free standing wooden frame that I got on ebay for a bargain. One of the swivel hinges was broken but was easily replaced:D. I also have a small wooden frame for smaller pieces but I don't like holding the frame in my hand cos I get cramp after a while so try to get pieces that fit in the free standing one.

I always stitch around my aida as fraying is a pet peeve of mine.

No stitching for me tonight just too dog gone tired after trudging around in the snow all day.

I've started a design where for some reason yesterday, I thought it a good idea to stitch the border first.... the stitches go right up against the border (its the newton in bed design from WOXS mag) as I'm stitching up against the border, in some places, the blue thread is catching over the border. (does this make sense)I did wonder if I might encounter difficulties.... but I think that if I stitch over the border again when I've finished - this will cover up any places where the blue thread has carried over.

does this sound like it will work???

I've got nicer friends than her already. All you wonderful peeps on here have been great friends to me. :A

I'm awake far too early this morning, so I might get a start on my mum's stitched card. Been putting it off as its in metallics, but it's got to be finished by the 14th and the time is getting on. There's some Christmas films on Sky OD, so will stitch & watch White Christmas or something.

Well my stitching today is going to be mending Dr Dragon's trousers :p, a small part of the seam has parted company and it will take me all day to mend (and on his other pair a button flew off this morning so that will have to be stitched on tonight ), after I finish the mending I think I will s*d the house and get my crochet out :rotfl:

    Hi ladies.

Ruth. 'A good marriage' looks great framed!

Sweetcarer. Nice finish of part 1 of the blue samplers. Look forward to seeing the rest.

TMIF. Loving the advent calendar all 'sweetied' up :D Very festive!

JCS. Very nice finishes, all of them. I especially like the xmas dec garland.

Couldsavemore. Hi and welcome! :) I use a clip frame, stand and helping hand and wouldn't be without them! This is the stand http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran882-0.html it's pricey but IMO worth every penny. I use a clip frame with mine and something called a helping hand that allows you to attach large frames to the stand.
Before I got the stand I just used the clip frame on it's own. I had a folding table that stood in front of me and I leant the frame on the edge of it.

    Mags. Have a lovely holiday.

Ailsb. Love the tree of stitches, it's beautiful!

    Chicky. Nice ABC progress.

As for me. Cat & kittens is coming along nicely. I want to get it done now as I have all the stash I need to do the bird table and some xmas designs for next year but I don't want to rush it and be disappointed with the results IYKWIM. I have decided to quickly take my time on it :rotfl:
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
