OK, So whats the problem with this handset?

I'm looking for a handset which will work for me. I had wanted an HTC but the battery issue is enough of a bad point, then the bad customer service reports finally killed it for me.

Samsung I didn't like the feel of, the screens felt too harsh and flickery with the exception of the S3 which is just not even a consideration because of the price.

I then have seen Sony have a handset called the Tipo. Its not an amazing handset, camera is only average but I'm not one for taking pictures. Its supposed to have decent battery life AND an interchangeable battery and memory card. It also has FM radio and is a smartphone so I can use it online.

I am seeing the handset is £90 on average and it looks kind of good- I'm struggling to see the bad points because as my cynical mind will tell you, every handset is over priced (because profits need to be made) and I can't see what the glaringly obvious problem is. Whats wrong with it?

oh and just to complicate things, I have the ipod touch 4 and have been using it for about 18 months so if I'm comparing to anything its in comparison to that, I'd rather not go too far backwards in terms of features!

The Tipo has a poor screen and a slower CPU. It's only redeeming feature is ICS.

I would get a G300; better chip, better screen and ICS is due shortly.

It's not. The UK doesn't have an official release yet.

It sure can, not everyone is keen on faffing around though. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate :D

Requires root and that voids warranty not a situation some users want .

I know, but I have a super slow computer. Just to illustrate this, I went to press 'reply' to your response at 12:48:30. Its was 12:56:28 when I finally had the page and response box up, having to wade and watch through "Recover Webpage" tabs and "Moneysavingexpert.com is not responding.....etc" (then a few page freezes).
If I'd just gone straight to the box below to respond without quoting it would have taken less then 30 seconds rather then nearly 10 minutes (it is now 1:00:00) Hence deciding to not edit with my first post.

OK but you shouldn't have to put up with that! Take a look at the 2nd sticky in the 'Techie Stuff' section.

Hmm... better post the direct link, considering... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2436849

    I didn't know that.
Personally, I try to avoid anything that requires understanding of the term root. :)

It doesn't necessarily void your warranty. Many phones can be reverted to stock in a way that removes all evidence of dicking around.
